Are you worried about your toddler's emotional outbursts?

Toddlers experience a wide range of feelings and emotions in their second year and because certain areas of their brain are still developing at this time they are unable to work out how to solve conflicts. This often triggers an emotional outburst or tantrum.

This is completely normal and although it can be frustrating and tiring for parents, it is generally nothing to be concerned about.

Although toddlers can be awkward, aggressive, and impatient, they will also begin to empathise with the feelings of the people closest to them too. Hold on to these moments of empathy - they will remind you of how proud you are of your toddler when you find yourself in the middle of a more testing moment!

You may be relieved to know that during their third year, toddlers will start to gain more control of their emotions, as their brain develops further. They will cope better with stress and conflict than in their second year and any emotional outbursts will become fewer as time goes on.

Run your own Toddler Sense Business

Toddler Sense is the next step on from Baby Sensory with an award winning programme that offers exciting opportunities to work with toddlers from 13 months to 4 years.

This is a fantastic opportunity to run a business where your working hours can fit around your personal circumstances. It is a hugely rewarding role, where you are working in a fun, friendly environment, building relationships with parents and toddlers.

This would suit someone who has a passion for working with children, is enthusiastic and motivated to run their own business. This role is ideal of someone that is maybe returning to work and wants a job that fits around school hours and term time. No experience is necessary, full training is provided and ongoing mentoring and support from an experienced Franchisor.

Let’s get musical this Monday!

"Making music together helps us to communicate thoughts, ideas and emotions in ways that no other stimulus can. It offers a whole range of other benefits too, from pain and stress management to improved motor and rhythmic coordination. It also contributes unequivocally to the positive development of the human brain". Dr. Lin Day

What’s on your play list @ Home this week? Jazz, Classical, Rock ’n’ Roll, Nursery Rhymes or something else?

During any winter we see a peak of germs 🦠 that can make us ill and with the added worry of the newest arrival (Coronavirus COVID-19) now is a good time to look at the advice from the NHS as to how best avoid getting ill and spreading germs.

✔How to help avoid catching and spreading germs:

🙂Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or your sleeve (not your hands) when you cough or sneeze

🙂Put used tissues in the bin straight away

🙂Wash your hands with soap and water often – use hand sanitiser gel if soap and water are not available

🙂Try to avoid close contact with people who are unwell

❌DO NOT touch your eyes, nose or mouth if your hands are not clean

👦👩Children:

Don’t forget to include your child in the above precautions. Children tend to spread viruses quickly so teaching them good hygiene skills really can help to slow down the spread of unwanted germs.

👶👧🧒Babies and toddlers:

If you or your baby/toddler are unwell try to stay away from others. Clean and dry surfaces/toys regularly with disinfectant where possible to kill any unwanted germs from coughs and sneezes.
