Luckily, yesterday's breeze, slight drop in temperature and significantly reduced match lengths meant that our KS2 football tournament was able to go ahead. Hopefully it is not a reflection of the actual World Cup as Argentina were victorious.

Superb!

Despite dealing with heatwaves and relocating the entire performance to a different location, the KS2 performance of Troy Story was absolutely brilliant.
Enormous thanks not only to the children who have taken all of the changes in their stride, but also to the staff who have had to think on their feet about how to make it work.
Quote from one of today's audience: "The best outdoor performance we have been to...ever!"

We look forward to welcoming everyone again tomorrow and (as it stands) again on Thursday.

At the end of Sports' Day Mr Moore made a little sketch, handed it to Mr Cox and asked if he could make something like it so that we could make a bigger focus of our winners each year. This evening he appeared in the hall with his 'rough' go at it. So this evening I would like to celebrate Mr Cox's 'rough' wood work skills - all made from reclaimed pieces of wood around school.
I'm sure you agree that all of the children (and especially the St Giles team!) will be delighted with Mr Cox's efforts when they see it in the morning.

Another excellent Sussex Day.
Thanks as ever to Mr Mott for his organisation, to Michael O'Leary for his stories, to Sompting Morris for the dancing, to Petworth and Slindon schools for joining us, to the parents who braved the rain and to FOBS for organising our first ever Sussex Day Fayre. Excellent teamwork all round.
