Our Penguins and Rhinos have been soaring through art class this week! 🎨 They explored all sorts of materials to craft the most fabulous feathers, experimenting with different textures, patterns, shapes, and colours to bring their bird creations to life. 🪶 The creativity didn't stop there—these young artists also rolled coloured paper into stunning 3-D birds, turning flat sheets into dimensional masterpieces. 🐦 Each creation is wonderfully unique, showing just how much fun and imagination went into every project. We can't wait to see these feathered friends on display!

Our outdoor classroom is here, and it's absolutely wonderful! 🌟

What an incredible journey! 🎉 After 3 years of amazing fundraising efforts from our fantastic PTA Friends of St James and winning the blue coin competition at Tesco, our outdoor classroom dreams have finally come to life! 🌳 Thank you to everyone who has helped make this possible 😁

This isn't just any structure—it's a multifunction powerhouse designed to do it all. 🏫 It's our new outdoor learning hub for educational adventures, a cosy forest school space for nature exploration, and the perfect spot for children to play and create during breaktimes. Talk about making every square inch count! ✨

We owe enormous gratitude to Prime Stables for bringing our vision to life. 🙌 From the very first conversation about what we needed, they listened, guided, and supported us with genuine expertise and warmth. This family-run business proved that professional doesn't mean stuffy—they were approachable, thoughtful, and absolutely lovely to work with, whether we were chatting with the office team or watching the build come together.

A heartfelt shout-out to United Decorators for rolling up their sleeves and transforming our space into something truly magical! 🎨 They sanded, painted, and installed an enormous chalkboard that's just waiting for your children to unleash their creativity. The whole setup is now beautifully child-friendly and ready for some serious artistic adventures. We're so grateful for their generosity and hard work! 🙌

Our young artists in Elephant class have been absolutely inspired by Fiona Robinson's gorgeous 'The Bluest of Blues' 📚 and decided to channel that inspiration into creating their own cyanotypes! 🎨 These students are discovering how light and chemistry work together to produce stunning shades of blue—just like the beautiful pages of the book that sparked their creativity. It's been wonderful watching them experiment with this classic photographic technique and create their own masterpieces. 💙 What a perfect blend of literature and hands-on art exploration!

A wonderful trip to Pallant House

Our Jaguars just had an absolute blast at Pallant House Gallery! 🎨 They stepped into a world of art and history, soaking up the stories the building had to tell and checking out some seriously cool exhibitions. But here's where it got really fun—the students got their hands messy (in the best way possible!) with a hands-on still life workshop. 🖍️ Armed with oil pastels and collage materials, they channelled their inner artists and created some genuinely impressive artwork. ✨ We can't wait to see what artistic mixed media they discover next!

⛪️Jaguars have visited St Botolph's Church this week. The Grade I listed building contains the earliest nearly complete series of wall paintings in England. Among forty individual subjects is the earliest known representation of St George in England. The children will use this to draw inspiration for there own art work and poems.⛪️

🌦️🌤️🌧️☀️Whether the weather be good, or whether the weather be bad.....🌤️🌦️🌧️☀️⛈️

Our KS1 children have been learning how to make observations of the weather using equipment including a weather vane.
They then recorded their data to answer a scientific enquiry question. 🌨️🌩️☀️🌦️🌧️ Well done Rhinos and penguins
