Ayr Boswell 2009 have been crowned international tournament champions after an outstanding Easter weekend in Barcelona, where the young side overcame teams from Italy, France, England and Ireland to lift the Copa Jordi trophy.
The Ayr team sealed the title in dramatic fashion, defeating Italy’s Carmagnola 4-2 on penalties in the final after the match finished 1-1 at full time.
The victory marks a major achievement for the squad, who travelled to Spain and rose to the challenge against strong opposition from across Europe to bring home silverware for Ayrshire.
Winning an international competition is a special moment for any young team, and Ayr Boswell 2009’s success is sure to be a source of pride for players, coaches, families and supporters alike.
