Personal Assistant – Social Support (Vacancy 33)
Location: Prestwich, Greater Manchester
Pay: £13.45 per hour
Hours: 8 hours per week, weekday mornings (flexible)
About the role
Ben (not his real name) is a friendly 27-year-old who is looking for a Personal Assistant to provide social support and help him build confidence and independence.
Ben experiences chronic anxiety, which can make leaving the house difficult and sometimes leave him feeling isolated. The successful applicant will support him to get out and about, enjoy activities and become more comfortable doing things in the community.
About Ben
Ben enjoys reading, video games and creative activities such as painting, drawing and knotting. He also likes nature, animals and going for walks. His interests include history, the paranormal, musicals, metal and other types of music.
About you
Ben is looking for someone kind, patient and dependable, with a good sense of humour and a friendly approach. It is important that you can build a positive working relationship with him while respecting his choices and supporting him at his own pace.
A driver would be helpful because Ben would like to visit a wider range of places, but driving is not essential. The ability to swim would also be useful, as swimming is an activity he may wish to try in the future.
Ben has pet rats and fish, but the Personal Assistant will not be expected to handle or care for them.
Why apply?
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive difference to Ben’s life by supporting his independence, confidence and social wellbeing. If you feel you would be a good fit, we would love to hear from you.
