📸 Social Media Update - A small change to how we share our school moments 📸

You may have noticed a little change in the way we share all the wonderful things happening across our school.

Safeguarding our children is always our highest priority and this includes thinking carefully about how photographs of our pupils are shared online. As part of our commitment to keeping children safe, we have decided to take a more considered approach to the images we post on our social media pages.

You’ll now see fewer close-up photographs of children’s faces and more images taken from a distance, side-on or from behind.

We absolutely love sharing school life with our families and community and that won’t change. We’ll still be celebrating all those special moments - just in a safer and more mindful way.

🐞 Year 3/4 - Science - Invertebrate Investigators! 🐞

Year 3/4 have been busy learning all about invertebrates this week! The children explored the characteristics of different invertebrate groups before sorting and matching them correctly.

They then headed outside for an exciting bug hunt around our school grounds, searching for the different invertebrates living in our school habitat.

A fantastic hands-on Science lesson!

🏆 Year Six Football Success - What an achievement! ⚽️

Our school football team competed in their final week of fixtures at Priory High School today and what a brilliant way to finish!

The team played exceptionally well, showing fantastic teamwork, determination and sportsmanship, winning an impressive 3 out of their 4 games!

These results meant that they finished SECOND overall out of eight teams!

We are incredibly proud of every single player. A wonderful achievement and a fantastic reflection of how well they have worked together as a team.

A huge thank you to Mr Ginty, Natalie, Miss Umergi and Mrs Chauhan for taking the boys to their fixtures over the past couple of weeks and for all their encouragement and support throughout the competition.

🎨 Year Five - Art - Amazing Art in Action! 🎨

Our children in Year Five have started exploring the work of Peter Thorpe, an abstract artist famous for his fantastic rocket artwork! This links perfectly with their English learning about the 1969 Moon Landing.

Yesterday, the children had great fun experimenting with different techniques to create their own colourful abstract backgrounds. There was lots of creativity, lots of experimenting and, of course, LOTS of paint!

We can’t wait to see how their finished rocket masterpieces turn out!

🌟 Lunchtimes at Whitefield are full of adventure! 🌟

Our children have been making the most of every minute of their lunchtimes, exploring all the fantastic opportunities our OPAL provision has to offer!

As a proud Platinum OPAL School, we love seeing children using their imagination, developing new skills and, most importantly, having FUN!

From swinging across the monkey bars and tackling the Ninja Warrior course, to zooming around the wheeled zone, getting creative in the Messy Café, building in our Den Village and SO much more, there really is something for everyone!
