💦 Year 5 Make a Splash! 💦

Year 5 had an amazing afternoon yesterday enjoying a range of water-filled activities while keeping cool in the hot weather!

The children threw themselves into the fun, taking part in waterbomb egg and spoon runs, watergun plantpot alley, pass the wet sponge, wet sponge bean bag toss, watergun rocket races and pass the cup of water.

There was lots of laughter, teamwork and friendly competition throughout the afternoon and by the end of it, everyone was very wet! The exciting activities helped the children stay cool, refreshed and smiling despite the heat.

A huge thank you goes to Mrs Lever for coming up with such a fantastic selection of water fun activities and making the afternoon so memorable. Special thanks also to Miss Haynes for all of the water runs in the heat – she even discovered a brand-new use for her food recycling bin! 😂

What a brilliant way to stay cool and making it a heatwave to remember!

💦 Reception - Keeping Cool the Reception Way! 💦

Reception children enjoyed a wonderfully calm and relaxing approach to staying cool during the recent hot weather.

Staff came up with some creative ideas to help the children beat the heat throughout the day, transforming the classroom into a peaceful cooling retreat. With the lights turned down, the children explored four special activity stations, including mindful colouring, stamping and printing, yoga and even a relaxing foot spa complete with refreshing mint water!

To finish off their day of relaxation, the children enjoyed the ultimate way to cool down – taking turns to walk through Mrs Ward’s spinny sprinkler. There were lots of smiles, laughter and splashes as everyone enjoyed the refreshing water.

🥪 Year 1/2 - Little Chefs, Big Smiles! 🥪

We're incredibly proud of our Year 1 and Year 2 chefs this week!

As part of their Design and Technology (DT) learning, the children have been exploring the art of sandwich making. They enjoyed developing important food preparation skills, including spreading, slicing and assembling their very own tasty sandwiches.

The highlight of the week was, of course, getting to sample their delicious creations! From careful preparation to the final bite, the children showed great enthusiasm, creativity and teamwork throughout.

Take a look at our talented mini chefs in action—we think you'll agree they did a fantastic job!

Amazing work Year 1/2, we are sure Chef Rachel will have a job for you all in the kitchen!

💦 Year 3 - Sprinkler Fun in the Sun! 💦

With the warmer temperatures upon us, our Year Three children enjoyed a fun way to stay cool today! The field was transformed into a mini splash zone as the sprinkler came out, giving everyone the chance to run, laugh and cool off in the sunshine.

A perfect way to stay active while beating the heat! 😎

You've started something now Year Three!

🧵 A Huge Thank You to Our Amazing Sewing Club Volunteers! 🪡

We want to give a big shout-out and a heartfelt thank you to the wonderful Mrs Hartley and Yvonne! Your time, patience, and support at our Year 5 sewing club this week made such a huge difference to all of our young crafters.

The children have been working incredibly hard and are currently busy embroidering their own custom bookmarks. It is wonderful to see them focusing so beautifully and mastering their first stitches before we move on to our next big project: designing and creating our very own tote bags!

We are so proud of the creativity and determination our Year 5s are showing!

🎨Year 5&6 Stone Art Club with Mrs Helm 🎨🪨

This week, our talented artists created stone food for our OPAL Messy Café! The children worked incredibly hard, showing great creativity and teamwork and they are excited to see others enjoying their fantastic creations.

We also started our Whitefield Snake at the school entrance.

🎨 Art Club with Mrs Lever - Dotty Pumpkins Inspired by Yayoi Kusama! 🎨

This week, the children at art club revisited a video all about the Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama and then created their own dotty pumpkins inspired by her work.

They decorated strips of paper with dots, circles and wavy lines before gluing them together to make pumpkin shapes, just like Yayoi Kusama.

The children enjoyed exploring patterns and colour while creating their wonderful artwork!

Great job Art Club!
