Busy Bears Nursery is looking for a reliable, responsible and caring Nursery Bus Driver to join our team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for safely transporting children and staff to and from a variety of nursery activities, including educational trips, swimming sessions, end-of-year outings and other special events.
This is an important role within our nursery, and we are looking for someone who takes pride in maintaining high standards of safety, safeguarding and professionalism at all times.

โข Safely drive the nursery bus in accordance with road safety requirements and nursery procedures.
โข Ensure the vehicle is safe, clean and suitable for transporting children.
โข Carry out appropriate vehicle safety checks before journeys.
โข Transport children and staff safely to educational trips, swimming sessions, outings and other nursery activities.
โข Support children safely when boarding and leaving the vehicle.
โข Complete accurate headcounts before departure, during trips where appropriate and before returning to the nursery.
โข Work closely with nursery staff to ensure children remain appropriately supervised at all times.
โข Follow all nursery safeguarding, health and safety and risk assessment procedures.
โข Report any concerns relating to the vehicle, children or safety immediately to the appropriate member of management.
โข Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when working with children, families and staff.
โข Provide a calm, patient and reassuring presence for children during journeys.
โข Support the nursery team as required during outings and activities.

Applicants must:
โข Hold a full and valid driving licence suitable for driving the nursery bus.
โข Have appropriate driving experience for the vehicle being used.
โข Be reliable, punctual and responsible.
โข Have a genuine interest in working around young children.
โข Demonstrate a calm, patient and caring manner.
โข Have a strong understanding of the importance of children's safety and supervision.
โข Be able to work effectively as part of a team.
โข Be willing to complete an Enhanced DBS check.
โข Provide suitable references as part of the recruitment process.

โข Previous experience of driving a minibus or passenger-carrying vehicle.
โข Previous experience working within a nursery, school or childcare environment.
โข Experience transporting children or young people.
โข Knowledge of safeguarding procedures.
โข A relevant driving qualification or additional passenger-carrying qualification, where applicable to the vehicle and role.
โข First Aid qualification would be advantageous.

Busy Bears Nursery is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. The successful applicant will be expected to share this commitment, complete online training and follow all nursery safeguarding policies and procedures.
An Enhanced DBS check will be required for this position, along with satisfactory references and appropriate verification of qualifications and driving entitlement.
The successful candidate must understand that the safety and wellbeing of the children is the highest priority. All journeys must be carefully planned, with appropriate supervision, headcounts and safety procedures followed at all times.
