I’m going to be honest… this is really, really hard for me.
I am SO f**** ill. Like, properly ill. Covid is still a thing apparently 🫠
And yet my brain is still trying to work out how I can teach, work, run the studios, answer messages and somehow just carry on as normal.
Because that’s what I do.
I keep going.
I find a way.
I make a plan.
I show up.
Resting when I’m genuinely unwell is something I find incredibly difficult.
But this time I’ve had to accept that I cannot push through.
I’ve just opened another studio. There is so much going on. So many people relying on me. So many things I want to be doing.
But I’ve had to ask myself:
“What would you tell someone else to do if they were this unwell?”
I know exactly what I’d say.
STOP.
Rest. Recover. Let your body do its job.
The world doesn’t fall apart because I don’t answer every message.
The business doesn’t collapse because I miss a few sessions.
And I don’t have to earn rest by becoming completely broken first.
And honestly, if you know me, you’ll know how serious this is.
I genuinely wouldn’t miss teaching if I was on my deathbed. 😂
Especially POUND. Rockout. Workout.
So if I am willingly staying home, cancelling things and actually resting…
I am REALLY f**** ill. 😂❤️🩹
I want to keep building.
Keep teaching.
Keep creating.
Keep showing up.
So maybe this is the lesson I need right now.
Rest isn’t the opposite of being productive.
Sometimes rest is what allows you to keep going.
So for once, I’m staying in bed.
Drinking my fluids.
Watching rubbish telly.
Ignoring the guilt.
And letting myself be poorly.
Because apparently even I am allowed to be a human being sometimes. 😂❤️🩹
When I’m better, I’ll get back to doing what I love.
But hopefully with a little more understanding that I don’t have to run myself into the ground to prove how much I care. 🖤
