Our Needs Attention grade for behaviour and attendance is for attendance NOT the behaviour part. According to the inspection team we set high expectations for behaviour and pupils’ conduct is positive.

We are deeply saddened by the tragic loss of a student from another local school who lost their life while swimming in a river. Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences are with their family, friends, fellow students, and all those affected by this devastating incident.

This tragedy serves as a stark reminder of the dangers that open water can present, even during warm weather and in places that may appear safe. Rivers, lakes, reservoirs, and other open water environments can contain hidden hazards including strong currents, cold water shock, sudden drops in depth, and submerged objects.

To help raise awareness and prevent further tragedies, LCC has attached guidance outlining key water safety messages. We encourage everyone to take a few moments to read and share this important information with family, friends, and young people in their care.
