Throwback to Japan Day!

This month we held our annual Japan Day event which attracted record number of visitors as well as staff and students. The ever popular fashion runway was a great success and visitors had the chance to sample Japanese food, language and culture.

Free event will bring a taste of Japan to Preston The popular Japan Day will return in February with a host of free activities and features a fashion runway, craft making workshops, Taiko drumming and more.

Yesterday we welcomed Nilesh Kumar, a Film Curator from England with over a decade of experience in the arts and an MA in Korean Studies to our Preston campus.

He spoke to an audience of language undergraduates about his journey from England to South Korea, focusing on how he turned a personal decision to move abroad into a sustainable creative career. He explained the importance of networking with other people and not being limited by the first job you have.
