Soroptimist International Preston We are a women’s voluntary organisation with women from all walks of life. We all have a common aim – and that is to make a difference. We want to inspire.

Members of SI Preston are a friendly group of women who form this voluntary organisation. We want to transform. We want to help. The Club meets twice a month on the first Wednesday of the month when we have a business meeting and again on the third Wednesday of the month when we have a social meeting . We don’t meet in August as it’s our summer break. The Business meeting deals with administrative issues together with the development and implementation of our service and charity giving programmes. At the Social meeting we have speakers on varied topics and during the Summer we usually include a number of outings to places of interest finishing with a meal at a local hostelry. Currently there are 20 members – we would LOVE to increase that number this year. Are you interested in joining us ? You must be as you are reading this. Don’t be shy. Don’t procrastinate. Come along to our next meeting. We will welcome you with open arms. Come on – join SI Preston and help us make a difference.

They're searching for remarkable local women who make a difference in our community every day and whose contributions deserve recognition. These are the women who strengthen our communities through courage, kindness and determination.

She can be anyone you know - a family member, friend, work colleague, neighbour or someone you see every day.

Has she overcome adversity? Does she make a difference simply because she cares? Has she achieved something extraordinary against the odds? Does she inspire, support and uplift those around her?

Whatever her story, Soroptomist International Preston want to hear about her so they can celebrate her story and give her the recognition she deserves.

We need your help 🩵

Every day, Lancashire Women supports some of the most vulnerable women in our community - women navigating homelessness, rough sleeping and incredibly difficult circumstances, often without access to even the most basic essentials.

We rely on the generosity of people like you to help us provide the things that most of us take for granted. And right now, we are urgently appealing for donations.

We are collecting:
🧥 Warm clothes like coats, gloves, hats, underwear and shoes
🧴 Toiletries and sanitary products
🛌 Sleeping bags and blankets
🥫 Dry food items

All donations can be dropped to our Preston Centre:
📍 Lancashire Women, Floor 1, Norwest Court, Guildhall Street, Preston PR1 3NU

Every single item makes a real and immediate difference to a woman in our community who desperately needs it.

Next Gen MEM, works to help young people build confidence and self-belief, understand and regulate their emotions, develop resilience and have someone in their corner who believes in them.
But they are also campaigning for something much bigger.
Gemma Anyon - has launched a UK Parliament petition calling for one-to-one mentoring to become a statutory right for children in care and care leavers.
She’s working incredibly hard to reach 10,000 signatures, which would trigger an official Government response, and it would be wonderful if we could help her get there.
How can we help? It's really easy - just sign the petition below and share. Let's help these brilliant youngsters

Make one-to-one mentoring a statutory right for children in care and care leavers :

Introduce a statutory right to trauma-informed one-to-one mentorship and guaranteed mental health support for every child in care and after care leavers up to age 25, funded by the Government.
