π§π‘ Apprentice in the Making! β¨
Our young person had a fantastic time at Old Vine House getting involved and supporting our maintenance team with a few tasks around the home. He was a great help and really enjoyed rolling up his sleeves and getting stuck in.
Getting involved in practical tasks like this is a brilliant way to develop important life skills, build confidence and independence, learn how things work, and take pride in contributing to the home.
Who knows, we might have a future maintenance apprentice in the making!
Being trusted with a job to do gives young people a real sense of purpose and responsibility. For children in residential care, contributing to their home in this way helps build ownership and pride in the place they live.

πΉ Taking Aim at New Adventures! π―
Another fantastic adventure for our young person and her team at The Bromleys, who recently headed out for a session of archery.
Trying something completely new is a brilliant way for young people to discover new interests, challenge themselves and build confidence. Archery also encourages focus, patience, coordination and perseverance, all valuable skills that support young people in everyday life.
It was lovely to see her getting involved, giving it a go and enjoying the experience alongside her team. Activities like this give young people the chance to step outside their comfort zone, learn through experience and create positive memories together.
Trying something new can feel daunting for any young person, and even more so for those who've faced instability in their lives. Opportunities like this help build resilience and self belief, showing young people that they're capable of far more than they might think.

βοΈπ¦ A fantastic day in the sunshine! πΏ
Our young person at Old Vine House had an amazing time making the most of the beautiful weather in the garden. The paddling pool was out, along with lots of fun splash activities, creating plenty of opportunities for play, laughter and happy memories.
It was lovely to see him enjoying the sunshine, getting stuck into the activities and having so much fun. A perfect summer day all round.
Simple, playful days like this give young people the chance to just be children, free from worry and enjoying the moment. Play is such an important part of a happy, settled childhood, wherever that childhood is spent.

π Adventure at The Bromleys! β¨
Our young person has been enjoying even more adventures as she continues to settle in beautifully at The Bromleys. Recently, she took on the challenge of paddle boarding at the Anderson Centre, and what an achievement it was.
Paddle boarding takes balance, coordination, strength and plenty of concentration, but she did brilliantly and had such a fun day. Activities like this help build confidence, resilience, coordination and independence, while encouraging young people to try new things and step outside their comfort zone.
It was fantastic to see her embrace the challenge, enjoy herself, and make more wonderful memories along the way.
