Earlier this week, we were delighted to welcome 24-year-old artist Sammy Angelo to speak to our students! 🎶

Sammy shared his journey from teaching himself guitar at the age of 15 to developing his skills in music and production, releasing his own music and collaborating with a range of artists.

He also spoke openly about developing alopecia as a teenager and the impact it had on his confidence, body image and mental health. Sammy shared how resilience and self-acceptance helped him turn a challenging experience into one of strength, positivity and determination.

A huge thank you to Sammy for sharing such an uplifting story and inspiring our students to face challenges, believe in themselves and follow their ambitions! 🌟

👷‍♀️🏗️ Inspiring the next generation of construction professionals!

Last week, our 14-16 School Links construction learners and Construction T Level students took part in a fantastic speed networking event at Preston College, delivered in partnership with the Eric Wright Learning Foundation. Students from Fulwood Academy, Christ the King Catholic High School, Parklands High School, Worden Academy, Brownedge St Mary's Catholic High School, Holy Cross Catholic High School and St Michael's Church of England High School had the opportunity to meet industry experts and business leaders from across construction, civil engineering, water and facilities management.

The day began with a welcome from Mark Taylor, Director of School for Construction and iSTEM at Preston College and representatives from the Eric Wright Learning Foundation, before learners received PPE packs including work boots, hoodies, T-shirts, high-vis vests and gloves, generously provided by the Foundation.

A huge thank you to all the professionals who gave their time to share their career journeys, expertise and advice. Your support helps inspire and inform the future workforce of the construction industry.

As our partnership with the Eric Wright Learning Foundation enters its 11th year, we're proud to continue creating opportunities that connect education with industry and help learners build bright futures.
