Tomorrow, we welcome back our Class of 2026 as they collect their GCSE results and celebrate the culmination of five years of hard work at Tarleton Academy.

Whatever tomorrow brings, we are already incredibly proud of each and every one of you and everything you have achieved.

☀️ SUMMER SCHOOL | DAY ONE! ☀️

Day one of our Summer School is officially underway!

We have been delighted by the fantastic uptake from our new students, who have arrived this morning full of enthusiasm and ready to get involved.

Already, it has been amazing to see new friendships beginning to form, students working together, supporting one another and embracing everything that Summer School has to offer.

Thursday 20 August for GCSE Results Day.

• Year 11: 9:00am – 11:00am
• Year 10 Dance: From 10:00am

We encourage all students to collect their results in person. Staff will be available throughout the morning to celebrate your achievements, offer guidance and support, and help you with your next steps.

Summer School Reminder

A quick reminder for all students who have already signed up to attend our Summer School – we’re really looking forward to welcoming you to Tarleton Academy next week! Summer School will take place on Monday 17th and Tuesday 18th August, and we have two fun and busy days planned.

A few important reminders:
Arrival: 9:00am each morning via the main reception
Collection: 3:15pm each day from the main reception

Lunch: Please bring a packed lunch each day. Lunch will be provided for students eligible for free school meals. Please remember that we are a nut-free school.

Clothing: Comfortable clothing and trainers should be worn as students will be taking part in a range of activities.

Warm weather: Please apply sun cream before arriving and bring additional sun protection if needed.

Mobile phones: Phones can be brought to school if needed but must be switched off and kept away during the day.

We can’t wait to see everyone! It will be a great opportunity to have some fun, meet other students and become even more familiar with Tarleton Academy before September.

There are some dates that stop us in our tracks and today is one of them. Two years have now passed since the devastating events in Southport that claimed the lives of three young girls: Alice, Bebe and Elsie.

Schools are places of hope. They are filled with laughter, friendship, curiosity and endless possibility. That is why tragedies involving children resonate so deeply with every member of the education community.

As a school, we have felt this especially through our close links with the Churchtown community. Over the past two years, we have been overwhelmed by the love, unity and strength shown by everyone connected to the school and the wider Southport community. In the face of unimaginable heartbreak, they have demonstrated what compassion truly looks like. Their courage and kindness have been an inspiration to us all and a powerful reminder of the importance of standing together when people need us most.

Today, we remember three precious lives. We remember the families whose lives were changed forever. And we hold the entire Southport community in our thoughts.

Alice, Bebe and Elsie will never be forgotten.
