We welcome this new guidance from the NHS urging Trusts to ensure pregnant women have access to support from a person of their choosing at all stages of their maternity journey.

This gorgeous couple had their baby via a surrogate. It serves as a great reminder for all midwives, students and birth workers that birth and family comes in all shapes and sizes. No two birthing families will be the same and compassionate, individualised care is vital for building trust and achieving positive outcomes.

The Nest: Introduction to the new midwifery-led Birth Suite at Warrington Hospital Meet Tracy Thomas, Matron and Sarah Fitzsimmons, Lead Midwife at the new facility, which opened on Tuesday 1 December.

There is never a silly question, trust your instincts. If you need us, we are here for you 24hours a day 7 days a week.

We have special measure in place to reduce the risk of covid transmission and make our maternity unit as safe as possible. It is vital that you still attend all your antenatal appointment and seek help if you are concerned about anything.

If you are 16 weeks or less and have a concern, please call you GP. They will refer you to the gynaecology department for review if needed.
