Discovery Vine Childcare are an Ofsted Registered Provider based in Preston, Lancashire, who work closely with 7 Primary Schools in Fulwood, Cottom, Garstang, Houghton and Burscough to provide high quality care and education for children aged 2-11 years. Our Pre School provision at Longsands Community Primary School, Fulwood and Lordsgate Township Church of England Primary School, Burscough, offer

15 free hours of free childcare places for children aged 2-4. Our Pre School provision at Longsands Community Primary School, Fulwood, is open All Year, although parents have the choice to book term time only spaces if they prefer. Discovery Vine Pre Schools and Out of School Clubs deliver the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum for children between the ages of 2-5 years. We offer continuous provision for all children where they can take part in fun, stimulating and cultural activities both indoors and out. At Discovery Vine we provide meals and refreshments that are nutritious, interesting and reflect each child's individual needs. Children are encouraged to try out different foods but never at the expense of a child going hungry. Drinks are readily available throughout the day. A drink of milk and a healthy snack is offered during the morning and afternoon sessions. If your child is attending nursery over the lunch time session you can purchase a warm dinner or send a packed lunch for your child. When a child registers with Discovery Vine, their dietary needs are recorded and available for staff when preparing food, drink or baking activities. Children attending the Breakfast Club are provided with a healthy breakfast and opportunities to play and socialise with friends before school. In addition Discovery Vine Childcare provides holiday care for children aged 2-11 years at Longsands Community Primary School, Fulwood (for children 8 and under) and at Harris Primary School, Fulwood for children aged 4-11 years. Throughout the holidays we provide fun and exciting activities indoors and out and day trips out in our mini bus. Discovery Vine is owned and managed by Jane Shepherd and Lynda Garbutt who are both qualified to degree level in childcare and have been awarded Early Years Professional Status. They ensure Discovery Vine is high quality by meeting all legal responsibilities to provide consistent care that does not put your child's safety and welfare at risk and only employing suitable staff with relevant training, qualifications and experience.
