Forest School at Ashbridge is learning in its most hands-on form. 💚

Across our two woodland areas, our pupils develop practical skills, confidence and independence through a rich programme of outdoor experiences. From learning to light fires safely and using real tools, to navigating low ropes courses and challenging themselves on the zipline, every session offers opportunities to learn through doing.

Our pupils also have the chance to observe the animals and wildlife that share our grounds, developing a deeper understanding of the natural world and their place within it. 🌿

Led by our highly qualified Forest School Leaders, these weekly sessions form an important part of our TAPESTRY curriculum — combining adventure, practical learning and meaningful connections with nature.

As the summer holidays continue, we’re already looking forward to another year of discovery, challenge and outdoor learning. 🌏

🐾 Meet Cookie… our future school dog!

Our pupils have already completed their Kids Around Dogs training, learning how to be calm, safe and confident around dogs — an important step in preparing for having a school dog.

Cookie is still completing her own training, so we’re taking everything at her pace as she gets ready for her role within our school community. 🐶

A lovely start to Cookie’s school journey, with plenty of learning, patience and care along the way. 🤍
