Following this morning's inspiring assembly, author and poet Parker Words spent the day working with our Year 7 and Year 8 students in English lessons.

Through creativity, collaboration, and plenty of imagination, students shared words, rhymes, and ideas to help create a poem for next year's transition students. It was wonderful to see so many students engaged, contributing confidently, and discovering the power of their own words.

A huge thank you to Nathan Parker for an inspiring visit. His enthusiasm, creativity, and personal story have left a lasting impression on both our students and staff.

Today we were delighted to welcome author and poet Nathan Parker Parker Words to the Academy on National Poetry Day

Our Year 7 students had the opportunity to hear Nathan’s inspiring story, learning how he overcame self-doubt and used his personal experiences to shape his journey as a writer. Students listened, engaged brilliantly, and asked some thoughtful questions.

Nathan will be spending the rest of the day working with selected in English lessons and visiting the library at lunchtime, sharing his passion for poetry, creativity, and storytelling.

A huge thank you to Nathan for inspiring our students and helping to celebrate with us. 📚✍️
