We finally managed to hold our annual sports day after being postponed twice due to the weather ๐ŸŒฆ๏ธ

We had a great time with a variety of races and football games. The children showed great skill, concentration and sportsmanship. The parents race and teachers race showed great tenacity by the adults!!

Thanks to Mrs Clarke winning the teachers race, the children got to enjoy an own clothes day a few days later.

Thank you to everyone who helped to make this a success, our families for coming along to support the children and to our PTFA for the refreshments.

What a fantastic day at Rock and River back in June for our year 5/6 children! ๐ŸŒง๏ธ๐Ÿ’™

The weather may have been wet, but that certainly didnโ€™t dampen our spirits! Our children embraced every challenge with enthusiasm, resilience, and plenty of smiles.

Throughout the day they enjoyed:
๐Ÿ›ถ Rafted Canoes
๐Ÿšฃ Sit-on Kayaks
๐Ÿ„ Paddle Boards
๐Ÿ‘ฅ Mega Paddle Boards
๐ŸŒณ Low Ropes Course
๐Ÿง— Climbing Tower

It was wonderful to see everyone pushing themselves outside their comfort zones, encouraging one another, and showing great teamwork and determination. We are so proud of the confidence, courage, and perseverance they demonstrated throughout the day.

Despite the rain, fun was had by all, and lots of fantastic memories were made. Well done, everyone!

After the May half term break, we welcomed Liza Lewis back to school to run her Forest School sessions across all classes. The children had an amazing day enjoying the outdoors and learning new skills.

Thanks again to our PTFA for giving our children the opportunity for some special outdoor learning.

Our Nursery/Reception children enjoyed a very exciting and memorable visit from the Creepy Crawly Roadshow at the beginning of June as part of their current topic, Animals. This hands-on experience gave the children the opportunity to meet, observe and even hold a variety of fascinating creatures, helping to bring their learning to life. The children were introduced to several different reptiles and mini-beasts, including a stick insect, cockroach, snail, spider, and a friendly snake called Monty. Many children showed great curiosity as they carefully observed the animals, asked questions and shared their thoughts about what they noticed. The children demonstrated excellent bravery, resilience and a positive "can do" attitude when encountering some animals that they may not have seen up close before.

Thank you John for another amazing experience.

Just before the May half term break, the children in Navigators class came to the end of their World War 2 history topic and had a VE Day to celebrate. The children looked amazing in their wonderful costumes and enjoyed playing games, painting plates and having an afternoon tea!
