World Cup fever has took it’s grip here at Little Explorers 🏆.
The children were invited to come in today wearing their football shirts or football related clothing 👕.
The explorers did some cutting, gluing, painting and sticking on footballs 🎨.
Practised their celebrations if the scored a goal 🥅.
They loved looking at a wide range of football books 📖.
The children played with various size balls ⚽️.
Also they looked at all the different flags who are participating in the tournament and one of Little Explorers even brung his flag in with him 🇧🇷.

The Little Explorers had an adventure to Barton Grange Garden Centre.
It is horrible weather so we thought we’d go somewhere indoors so Barton Garage is ideal.
The children spotted animals and dinosaurs whilst walking around the Garden Centre. Luckily none of the children were ate.

The Little Explorers had a trip to the library as we noticed that our books were about to go overdue.
The children really like going to Wigan Libraries. They have story time all together and also have a look at the books to choose one to read whilst. Then they chose another one to borrow and take back home with.

The Little Explorers went to their favourite local park. St James’s School Park.
They love coming here running, climbing and having so much fun. We haven’t managed to get out on a park this week with the weather being terrible so it was nice to let the children burn off some energy and steam.

A rainy morning meant we had to stay indoors and went to Newmarket Garden Centre in Newton Le Willows.
The children loved the gardening ornaments. We looked at the animal statues and the animal lights. They were quizzed on what animals were there by having to point to whichever we said and making the sound of the animal.
Also we have had a new Explorer come to join us this week. She’s settling in fine and the children have been amazing with her and welcomed her in nicely.

The Little Explorers had a great time watching the planes landing and taking off at Manchester Airport.
They also had so much fun on the play area there. It was busy but that didn’t stop them and the big ones looked after the little ones.

The Little Explorers had a fun morning down at Norley Hall Adventure Playground.
First time we have ever been here since it got re built. The play area was very impressive. A big castle full of lots of details and hidden features.
The children pretended to be knights & princesses. Lots of energy burnt off by climbing, sliding and swinging.
We also went across the road where they had 2 bouncy castles and a bucking bronco for the bigger children.
Big thanks to Wigan Council, Be Well Wigan & The Meadows, Standish, Shevington & Aspull Family Hubs for putting this big event on. The children loved it.
“If we want our kids to have happy, productive, moral lives, we must allow more time for play, not less.” - Peter Gray

The Little Explorers headed out to Mesnes Park.
Sun was shining creating shadows. The children were very intrigued by their own shadows. They made different shapes eg Star.
On our walk around the place, the children had to spot different shadows. From the Trees to Ducks they spotted lots.
The children also had a running race up the hill.
Whilst near the Duck pond a very friendly Squirrel kept coming over to us and getting very close.

The weather is awful again today so we went to Bents Garden & Home.
The Little Explorers had a look at all the displays of summer. Each display was very vibrant and nothing like the weather outside. We also looked at the Flowers and spoke about their colours.
And of course, we couldn’t leave without saying hello to the Dinosaurs.
