Real Care Support Crisis & Respite Services supports young people whose current placements may be at risk and their local authority does not have a relocation plan for them.
Starting rate is £9.50 per hour, weekend rates increase £11.50 per hour.
Once staff pass the probationary period the rate will increase to £10.50 per hour and weekends rates increase to £12.50 per hour.
This role also gives you flexibility to take on different assignments as they come in, where you can work across a range of settings from hospitals, children's homes, secure transportation or providing support in the family home. Applicant must be willing to work away from home for 2 to 4 days and hold a full UK Driving Licence.
You must also thrive in a team environment and be flexible, with the ability to work away and stay in residential accommodation if required (UK wide) for 2-3 days at time, sometimes longer (if required per needs of the YP/Location/Crisis point). Other assignments could be based local where you can work early/late/waking watch shifts (depending on the requirement of the job).
We are therefore seeking resilient support workers who have past experience with challenging behaviour. You will help our young people stabilise their behaviours by implementing firm boundaries in a safe and nurturing environment and working with the rest of staff team to provide a consistent, positive and trusting relationship.
In addition to the above you will also support our young people with the more routine aspects of life including household tasks, chores, attending appointments and maintaining contact with family and friends.
Key Accountabilities:
To provide high quality, person-centred care recognising the potential of each Young Person and to promote through actions and words the achievement of that potential including working as part of a team.
To meet the individual care and support needs of Young People using the service in a way that promotes, dignity, privacy, safety and independence.
To ensure the effective use of resources in providing this care and support.
What we are looking for:
You will, ideally, have already achieved a OCF/NVQ Level 3 or Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent or be excited and driven of the prospect of gaining a recognised qualification with full financial and practical support from us
You will hold a current driving licence
Be able to work away from home as not all work is guaranteed locally
You will consider yourself to me a resilient and reliable individual who is able to remain calm in situations that may be difficult and challenging
Our young people are cared for on a 24 hour basis and you will be required to work some sleep-ins in order to support this.
