πŸ”¨ Exciting Improvements in KS1! πŸ”¨

Over the past few days, we have been busy making some exciting changes to our Key Stage 1 learning environment.

Our previous open-plan classroom layout has now been transformed with the addition of a new internal wall and door, creating a dedicated classroom space while still maintaining a bright and welcoming atmosphere for our children.

These improvements will help to reduce noise, minimise distractions and provide an even better environment for teaching, learning and supporting all children to be the best they can be.

A huge thank you to everyone involved in completing the work so quickly and efficiently.

We are looking forward to seeing the positive impact this will have on our pupils' learning experiences.

πŸ“š Could you help inspire a love of reading? πŸ“š

We are looking for volunteers to come into school and listen to our children read. πŸ“–

Just a small amount of your time can make a huge difference to a child's confidence, fluency and enjoyment of reading.
Whether you can spare an hour a week or a little more, your support would be greatly appreciated by both our children and staff.

If you enjoy reading, chatting with children and helping them grow in confidence, we would love to hear from you.

All volunteers will be required to complete the necessary safeguarding and DBS checks before starting.

For more information, please contact the school office.

Together, we can help every child develop a lifelong love of reading! πŸ“–β€οΈ

Elm Class had a special visitor in school when a Corporal Soldier came to talk to the children about safer strangers and the important role they play in helping people within our communities.

The children learned about who safer strangers are, when they can help, and how people in community roles work together to keep others safe. They listened carefully and asked lots of thoughtful questions about life in the Army and the responsibilities that come with helping others.

One of the highlights of the visit was getting to see and try on some of the soldier’s uniform and equipment. The children were fascinated to learn about the different items and why they are worn.

A huge thank you to our visitor for taking the time to share his experiences and help the children learn more about staying safe, helping others and serving the community. It was a fantastic experience that the children thoroughly enjoyed.

🌟 Rowan Class Residential🌟

Rowan Class had an incredible time on their residential at the Boys' Brigade Activity Centre!

The children threw themselves into a wide range of exciting activities, including climbing, exploring the cave system, orienteering, tackling the trim trail, archery and laser tag. Their enthusiasm, teamwork and determination were wonderful to see throughout every challenge.

After a busy day of adventures, everyone enjoyed a delicious dinner of pasta, followed by chocolate cake and ice cream – the perfect way to refuel! 🍝🍰🍦

One of the highlights of the last evening was the Rowan Class Talent Show. It was fantastic to see the children working together and confidently showcasing their many talents. We were treated to dancing, singing, story recitals, comedy sketches, long jumping and some impressive rope skills!

A special congratulations goes to Yousuf, Jorgie, Devon, Aimee and Percy, who were our individual winners. They showed incredible resilience and bravery by performing in front of their classmates.

A huge well done to all of the children who proudly represented our school at Kirkham and Wesham Club Day.

Organised by Mrs Turner, the children joined local churches, schools and community groups as they walked through the streets.

Although the day began with some rain, it certainly didn't dampen anyone's spirits! The children showed fantastic enthusiasm, behaviour and community pride throughout the event.

It was wonderful to see so many people coming together and celebrating all that makes our local community so special. A real sense of togetherness was felt throughout the day, and we are incredibly proud of all of the children who took part.

Thank you to Mrs Turner for organising the event and to all the staff who who helped make the day such a success.

What a fantastic day Elm Class had at Farmer Teds🐴🐹🦎

The children enjoyed meeting and grooming ponies, learning about and stroking guinea pigs, and exploring a range of fascinating mini beasts, including a bearded dragon, white tree frog and even a cockroach!

One of the highlights was the tractor ride through Jurassic Tedventure, where we learned about dinosaurs and had a surprise splash from a cheeky dinosaur! We also visited the aviary to learn about owls and how they are cared for.

To top it all off, the children had great fun on the toboggan ride, in the park and exploring the tractors. A wonderful day full of learning, adventure and smiles!
