✨ National Poetry Day – WONDER! ✨📖

Today, our children have been celebrating National Poetry Day with this year’s theme: Wonder.

From exploring the things that amaze, inspire and delight us, to creating their own imaginative poetry, our children have been encouraged to look at the world with curious eyes and discover wonder in the ordinary. 🌍💭

Across school, we’ve seen some fantastic ideas, thoughtful words and wonderfully creative poems. It has been lovely to see our children noticing the little things, asking questions, imagining possibilities and finding beauty in the world around them. ✨

As a school community, we want our children to let their light shine, and poetry has given them another wonderful way to share their ideas, creativity and unique perspectives with others. 💛

“Let your light shine before others…”

🌟 OUR THIRD STAFF VIP! 🌟

This week’s VIP is someone who might not always be in the classroom, but who is very much part of our school family, Mr Little, our wonderful school cleaner. 💛

And just look at the incredible words our children had to say about him! 🥰

Kind. Helpful. Respectful. Thoughtful. Caring. Enthusiastic. Calm. Always happy. Lovely.

We couldn’t possibly write them all down!

Mr Little was genuinely made up to see how much our children notice, value and appreciate him. It was such a lovely reminder that everyone belongs here — and everyone makes a difference.

Sometimes, all it takes is someone taking the time to notice. ❤️

What a VIP! 🌟

🌍✨ A morning of creativity, wonder and thoughtful ideas! ✨🌍

This morning, a group of our children had the wonderful opportunity to visit All Saints’ Church, New Longton, as part of the celebrations for the Diocese of Blackburn’s Centenary Year.

We were absolutely blown away by the Creation Experience. 🌱🌊🐠🦁 The children loved exploring all the different creation stations and were full of thoughtful ideas, questions and suggestions as they journeyed through the story of creation.

It was wonderful to see them so engaged, curious and willing to share their thinking, and they were incredible ambassadors for our school. 💚

A huge thank you to Mrs Aspen for showing us around, sharing the story behind the experience and making us feel so welcome, and to everyone at All Saints’ Church, New Longton, for creating such a special and memorable experience for our children.

What a wonderful way to celebrate God’s amazing creation together! 🌍✨

🌟 OUR SECOND VIP! 🌟

And just like that… we have our second VIP of the Week! 💛

This week, it’s the wonderful Mrs Gordon, who teaches in Year 3! 🎉

Once again, I simply couldn’t write them all down! The lovely things our staff had to say about Mrs Gordon were a wonderful reminder of the impact she has on the children and colleagues around her. 🥰

What a way to start the week! ✨

Another reminder that everyone belongs here, everyone matters and everyone has something special to bring to our school family.

Who will be next week’s VIP? 👀

🌟 EVERYONE BELONGS HERE 🌟

This year, we’ve launched something special with our staff, inspired by TGMC Jen Foster | Behaviour Consultant and Trainer . 💛

It’s all about connection, belonging and taking the time to really notice the people around us.

In a busy school, it can be easy to focus on what needs doing next. But what if we stopped for a moment to notice the people who make our school the special place it is?

So, we’ve launched our very own VIP of the Week! 🌟

Each week, one member of our staff family gets their moment in the spotlight, a chance for us to celebrate who they are, what they bring and the difference they make to our school community.

Because everyone has a story, everyone has something to offer and everyone belongs here. ❤️

👀 Swipe through to see who our very first VIP was!

We can’t wait to find out who will be next week…

And, just like in TGMC, we’re reminded that sometimes the smallest moments of noticing and connection can make the biggest difference.

Everyone belongs here. Everyone matters. Everyone has a light to shine. ✨

🚸 Our Road Safety Banner is Up! 🚸

We are incredibly proud to see our new Road Safety Banner proudly displayed outside school for everyone to see!

This fantastic project was launched by our dedicated School Parliamentarians, who wanted to make a real difference in helping to keep our school community safe. They worked together to design a banner with an important message, encouraging everyone to think carefully about road safety when arriving at and leaving school.

It is wonderful to see our pupils leading positive change, using their voices to make a difference and helping to keep everyone safe. We hope our banner serves as a daily reminder that by working together, we can all play our part in protecting our children.

Well done to our amazing School Parliamentarians – we are so proud of your commitment to making our school and local community a safer place. 🌟💛

🌞💦 Beating the heat, the Middleforth way! 💦🌞

What a week it’s been! With the temperatures soaring, our children found the perfect ways to stay cool – from racing through the sprinklers, zooming down the slip ‘n’ slide, to enjoying some very competitive (and very splashy!) water fights! 😄🌈

There were smiles, laughter, plenty of soaked uniforms and, most importantly, memories made that will last a lifetime. It has been wonderful to see our children embracing the sunshine, having fun together and continuing to Let Their Light Shine in everything they do. ✨

Our SOFA Club (Sharing Our Faith Around) enjoyed a wonderful evening exploring our school grounds on a Scripture Scavenger Hunt! 📖✨

As we journeyed around the site, we paused at different locations to read and reflect on scripture together, thinking about how God’s word can guide us in our everyday lives. We finished our time with a group prayer, giving thanks for our beautiful school community and the opportunity to share our faith together.

To top off a lovely evening, everyone enjoyed an ice pop while spending time with friends in the sunshine! ☀️🍦
