The circumference is the distance all the way around a circle, or the edge. Think of taking a trip around the world! 🌍 The radius is the distance from the centre of a circle to the edge, like cutting a slice of cake. 🍰

To calculate the circumference of a circle, we use π (pi). This is a special number that equals approximately 3.14.

Circumference = 2 × 𝜋 × radius (also written 2𝜋r).

So, if the radius of your circle is 5 cm, let’s find the circumference together:

Circumference = 2 × 3.14 × 5 = 31.4 cm.
