Up to £6,000 in government funding could be available when you hire an apprentice.

From 1 October 2026, eligible non-levy-paying employers could access a £2,000 hiring grant when recruiting an apprentice aged 16–24. By combining this with additional incentives (such as young apprenticeship payment or the youth jobs grant), total support can reach up to £6,000 per candidate.

We had a fantastic day at the Community Pharmacy Greater Manchester September Conference on Sunday, where we had the opportunity to meet pharmacy professionals from across the region and hear from a range of industry experts.

Our very own Amerjit Singh, Founder of Skills4Pharmacy, also took to the stage to deliver a presentation on “Understanding Pharmacy Apprenticeships”, sharing insights into how apprenticeships can support pharmacy teams and help develop the future workforce.

A big thank you to Community Pharmacy Greater Manchester for putting together such a great event and for welcoming Skills4Pharmacy. It was a pleasure to meet so many pharmacy professionals and be part of the conversation.

If you’ve accepted your Community Pharmacy Technician Apprenticeship Programme (CPTAP) funding from NHS England, learners need to be enrolled by Wednesday, 30 September.
