🎂 Theme of the Week: Birthdays 🎈

This week at Silver Birch Afterschool Club, we’ve been celebrating everything birthdays.🎉

The children have enjoyed lots of fun and creative activities throughout the week. We set up a wrapping station, where the children could wrap their own presents, and got creative making balloon collages using colourful pens and stickers.

We also designed our own colourful birthday cards and used playdough to create some fantastic-looking birthday cupcakes.🧁

On Monday evening, we worked together to bake cupcakes, which were a big hit. Then, on Tuesday night, we hosted our very own birthday party! The children enjoyed a delicious birthday tea of sandwiches, crisps, cupcakes and lemonade. 🎂🥪

After tea, it was time to party! We had a disco followed by lots of traditional party games, including Pin the Tail on the Donkey, Musical Statues, Find the Bobbin, Squeak Piggy Squeak and Musical Bumps.

It’s been a fantastic week of birthday fun. 🎈🎉

🐾 Next Week: Pets

Next week, we’ll be turning our attention to our favourite furry, feathered and scaly friends as we explore the theme of Pets.

☕️💚 Macmillan Coffee Morning 2026 💚☕️

What a lovely morning! 🥹✨ Thank you to everyone who joined us, donated, baked, supported and helped make our Macmillan Coffee Morning so special.

From the delicious treats to the lovely conversations, it was beautiful to see everyone come together for such an important cause.

Together, we raised £150 to support Macmillan Cancer Support and the incredible work they do for people and families affected by cancer.

☕️ Good coffee. Good food. A great cause.

We are incredibly proud to announce the election of our Year 6 pupil leaders for the year ahead!

Congratulations to our newly elected: Head Boy, Head Girl, Deputy Head Boy & Head Girl, Prayer Leaders, Sports Council Representatives and House Captains

All of the children demonstrated courage, confidence and a genuine commitment to making our school an even better place. We are exceptionally proud of every child who put themselves forward and shared their ideas with such enthusiasm.

We look forward to seeing our pupil leaders embrace their new responsibilities, serve our school community and live out our school mission statement through their leadership.

Theme: Families and Ourselves 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

This week, we’ve been busy exploring the themes of families and ourselves through lots of creative and exciting activities

🍪 We used icing to decorate biscuits with our very own self-portraits.

🌳 We carefully created our family trees, drawing and including each member of our families.

🎨 We drew self-portraits and used playdough to create our own 3D self-portraits.

It has been a wonderful week celebrating what makes each of us unique and learning more about the people who are special to us. 💕

🎂 Next week, we’ll be thinking about all thing's birthdays!

👶 Theme of the Week: Babies

This week at Silver Birch Afterschool Club, we have been very busy having lots of fun caring for babies!

Our role-play area has been transformed into a baby clinic, where the children have enjoyed taking on different roles and pretending to care for their little patients.

We have also been getting creative by designing our very own baby grows. Using stickers and wax crayons, the children created bright and vibrant outfits for their babies.

We used our pencil crayons to colour in our mini-me figures, carefully selecting colours to represent our hair and skin tones. It was lovely to see the children making their mini-me’s personal and unique.

There has certainly been plenty of messy fun too! We enjoyed making dirty nappies and mixing different ingredients together to create our very own baby food. 🍼

Next week, we will continue exploring our babies theme while also beginning to think about ourselves and our families. We’re looking forward to another fun-filled week

A huge congratulations to all of our Year 6 children who shared their presentations yesterday for our elected school roles!

We were incredibly proud to see so many Year 6 pupils step out of their comfort zones, speak with confidence and share their ideas, passions and ambitions for our school community

Taking that step to put yourself forward is an achievement in itself and each presentation reflected the talent, character, and leadership qualities within our Year 6 cohort.

Well done to everyone who took part. You should all be very proud of yourselves!

🏰 Theme of the Week: Magical Kingdoms ✨

It’s been lovely to welcome everybody back after our summer break, and it has been amazing to see so many new faces joining us.

Over the past week and a half, we have been exploring our Magical Kingdoms theme, and the children have had lots of fun using their imaginations. Our castle has been a very popular place to play, with children dressing up as dragons, knights and princesses and creating their own magical adventures.

Our creative area has also been very busy! The children have enjoyed making sparkly crowns, shields using stencils, colourful dragon paintings, playdough dragons and beautiful paper dolly princesses. 👑🐉

We still have some spaces available at Silver birch Afterschool Club, which can be booked via the Arbor app.

If you would like any further information, please contact the office.

👶 Next Week: Babies & Families 💕

Next week, we’ll be exploring all things babies and families, with lots of fun activities and opportunities for imaginative play.

We can’t wait to see what adventures the children get up to!
