In todays science club we have been learning about bridges and their structures. Such examples include beam, truss and suspension bridges. Here are the ones that were made today!

This week in science club, the pupils have been learning about the excretory system. Here they are dissecting a lamb kidney to explore the structure and function of the kidney and why they are so important to us!

Pupils were learning about surface tension in Science Club and discovered how ants stay afloat in the Amazon river! Pupils created their own examples of surface tension!

Year 7 have been learning about genetics this week. They have really enjoyed extracting the DNA from kiwi fruit! 🥝

Year 8 have been learning about animal adaptation in their Ecology unit this week. They have learned about how birds are adapted to their respective environments.

Today in Science club we have been studying non-Newtonian fluids by creating some brilliant examples of ooblek using only 2 ingredients; cornflour and water!

As part of the GCSE Chemical Changes topic Year 10’s have been creating rainbow fizzes by reacting acids and alkalis.

Year 7 have been extracting DNA from Kiwi’s as part of their Geneticist careers lesson and have obtained some fantastic samples!!

Following the massively successful science week we just had we have decided to start a science club, and a homework club. Feel free to attend any sessions from 3pm Monday.
