✨ Have you noticed something different? ✨

If you’ve been keeping an eye on our recent posts, you may have noticed that several of them have been faceless… 👀

Well, there’s a reason! 💜
We’ve decided that Daisy Chains is going faceless on social media! 🌿✨

We have a wonderful app called Famly, which is our private platform for communicating with our nursery families. Through Famly, we share daily updates, photos and special moments directly with our families, so they can see what their little ones have been getting up to throughout the day.

Our social media is a little different. It’s a public space, and we’ve decided that we can showcase everything wonderful about our nursery without needing to share the children’s faces here.

From little hands getting messy, creative activities, mark making, outdoor adventures and curious little discoveries, to our beautiful spaces and all the learning that takes place — there are so many ways to share what we do 🌈🎨🌱

We’re excited to get creative and show you just how much we can share! 📸✨

💜 What’s your favourite part of Daisy Chains? 💜

As part of our annual Quality Review, we’ve been asking our parents and guardians to share their thoughts and feedback with us.

One lovely family went one step further and sent us the most adorable little video of their little one telling us what his favourite part of nursery is! 🥹🌼....
.....and his answer was simply “Lydia!”
Safe to say, Lydia was absolutely delighted! 💕

Thank you so much to his family for taking the time to send this to us. It really did make our day! 💫

And a huge thank you to all of our parents and guardians who are taking the time to complete our feedback questionnaires. Your thoughts genuinely help us reflect, celebrate what we do well and continue to make Daisy Chains the best it can be. 🌼💜

🌸 Painting with Flowers 🎨

Our Tots have been getting creative with nature today, using beautiful flowers to create their very own paintings. 🌼

Dipping, pressing, exploring and discovering the different marks each flower can make — a simple invitation with so much opportunity for little hands to explore.

A lovely way to combine sensory exploration, creativity and mark making while enjoying the beauty of nature. 🌿✨

🥣 Scooping and pouring 🫗

Our little ones have been busy exploring moon sand — scooping it up and carefully pouring it into bowls.

It might look like simple play, but these little movements are helping to develop hand-eye coordination, control and confidence as children learn to use tools independently.

These are the same skills they will use as they grow in independence — including self-serving their own meals and pouring their own drinks. 🍽️🥛

We love giving children opportunities to practise these important life skills through play, at their own pace. 💜

Making lines, patterns, shapes and little marks — all while strengthening those little hands and developing the fine motor skills needed for future writing. ✍🏼

Learning doesn’t always look like sitting at a table with a pencil… sometimes it looks like squishing, rolling, pressing and creating! 💜

📚✨ That’s Not My…

We have a lovely collection of That’s Not My… books in our Tots Room, and they are such a wonderful resource for early exploring and literacy. 🤍

The different textures encourage little hands to touch, feel and explore, while the simple words make these books great for children who are beginning to recognise and read words too. 📖✨

And they’re not just for story time! We regularly use our That’s Not My… books to inspire our invitations to play, bringing the stories to life through sensory and imaginative experiences. 🌿✨

🐭 A little tip…
Have you spotted the hidden mouse? The mouse is hiding throughout the book, and searching for it is such a simple way to make story time interactive and encourage children to really explore the pages.

🎨💜 Purple painting fun! 💜🎨

Our little artists got creative with purple paint, exploring the colour, movement and mark making through a hands-on painting experience.

Using brushes and their own ideas, the children created lots of different marks across the cling film — watching the paint move, overlap and transform as they experimented. 🖌️✨
