Who has some of these hanging about in the toy cupboard?
Not only are they great for construction, but they're also a great learning tool.

I LOVE using wipeable toys and whiteboard pens to make spelling just that little bit more engaging.
Brilliant for breaking spellings into syllables, adding prefixes and suffixes and noticing spelling patterns.

Apologies for the lack of posting! I suffered a bereavement recently so I have been taking the time to regroup and focus on what is important. However, I'm back!

Hope you all had a wonderful Easter filled with family time, love and a sprinkling of chocolate! I know we did!

How lucky are we that we care so much about our children's education? But let’s be real, it can be tough! Finding new ideas, keeping your child engaged every day, and having the energy to plan meaningful activities after a long day of motherhood can feel overwhelming.

I totally see you, I’m in the same boat, and I definitely don’t have all the answers! But what I do have are some fun and easy playful learning ideas that I’ve tried and loved.

Let’s share! Let’s talk about those magical moments, the games that work, and the ones that didn’t quite hit the mark. Together, we can embrace our perfectly imperfect learning experiences. For the sake of our children ❤️

Our goal is simple: make sure families don’t feel like they have to figure it out alone.

Early sentence construction can feel like such a chore for our little people. Try this game to make sentences that little bit more playful!

Take some plastic cups and some pictures prompts, I've taken mine from Twinkl Resources

Show off your pong skills from a misspent youth and throw some tips to your child on how to get the ping pong ball in, then look at the picture together.

The key here is to choose just one thing or person you're going to talk about. In the early days of sentence construction we will often think of "who" and "doing" (essentially noun and verb.)

From there rehearse the sentence verbally and send them in their merry way!

In early sentence writing, I tend to focus more on getting the words out and onto the page than on spelling.

The most important part of this game is to praise, praise, praise. Every small moment that is going well, or better than before needs PRAISE. I can't shout enough about how a simple nod or "YES" will improve a child's writing.

Happy Valentines day to all of you beautiful people.

For me, I don't really buy into the romance of Valentines day, but it's a day to notice all the different forms of love that surround us and how I show my love to everyone I care about. My love language tends to be through quality time, talk and connection (you all know I'm a bit of a chatter 😂).

Enjoy today, take little moments to show love in your own way and remember that you are all so loved ❤️
