🌟 Reception have had a fantastic start to school! 🌟

Our children have settled in so well and have loved exploring their new classroom and outdoor area. They have also enjoyed staying for lunch and getting to know their new routines and friends. ❤️

💛 Our Class Is a Family 💛

Year One have been enjoying Our Class Is a Family 📚✨ We drew self-portraits and talked about all the ways we can treat each other like a family — with kindness, care, respect and friendship. 🥰

We’re already building a wonderful classroom family! 🌟

Welcome to Year 2 💛

It has been wonderful getting to know all the children in Year 2 as we begin our new school year together! We have enjoyed spending time getting to know one another and have now settled into our classroom routines. 📚✨

There are lots of smiley faces in our class, and everyone has been working incredibly hard. Well done, Year 2! 🌟

Year 3 have settled into school brilliantly and are getting to grips with their new routines. 📚✨ They have already been working hard, showing kindness and earning a fantastic 106 Dojos altogether! 🌟

We hope everyone has had a wonderful and restful summer and has enjoyed making lots of happy memories together. ☀️

We can’t wait to see all of our Years 1–6 children tomorrow and start another fantastic school year together.

📖 End of Year Letter from Mrs Sayers

As we finished for the summer holidays last Wednesday, we’d like to share Mrs Sayers’ End of Year Letter with our St John’s families.

The letter reflects on another wonderful year at St John’s, celebrating our pupils’ achievements, thanking our dedicated staff, parents, carers, governors and PTFA for their unwavering support, and looking ahead with excitement to the new school year.

It also includes messages of thanks and farewell to colleagues beginning new chapters, welcomes new members of staff, and shares some important information for September.

Thank you to everyone who has helped make this year so special. We wish all of our families a safe, happy and restful summer break, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back in September. 💛❤️Love One Another ❤️💛

👕❤️ Pre-Loved School Uniform Sale ❤️👕

Join us after school on Monday 20th July in the school hall to pick up good-quality pre-loved school uniform.

The uniform has been kindly donated by our wonderful St John’s families and includes unclaimed lost property. Please bring a bag, and if you’re able, a small donation to support our PTFA would be greatly appreciated.

If you have any uniform you’d like to donate, please drop it off at the school office before 20th July.

A huge welcome to our wonderful Reception 2026 children! 💙✨

We had such a lovely transition day getting to know everyone. The children explored their new classroom, enjoyed lots of activities inspired by The Tiger Who Came to Tea, and started making new friends along the way. 🐯☕️

Poulton Library is running its Reading Heroes summer programme, with a range of fun activities for children throughout July and August.

From cracking secret codes to games, patterns and measuring challenges, there’s something to keep young minds busy while having fun.

A huge thank you to our amazing PTFA for all the hard work, time and dedication that went into making Friday’s Summer Fair such a fantastic event. From the planning and organising to running stalls on the day, we really appreciate everything you do for our school community.

Thank you as well to all of the families who came along to support the event. It was wonderful to see so many parents, children, staff and friends enjoying the afternoon together. The lovely community spirit on display made the day feel really special.

We hope everyone had a fantastic time, and we’re so grateful to everyone who helped make the Summer Fair such a success. Thank you!
