Attention parents of year 9 and 7. You should have received email communication regarding PE lessons on Wednesday.

Year 9 Y band have PE period 5.

Year 7 Y band have PE period 4.

As year 7 students don’t know which half of the year (x or y) they are on yet, all students are permitted to wear their Baines tracksuit with PE kit underneath to ensure they can participate fully in the lesson and start the new term as we wish to go on - with purpose following the Nil Sine Labore ethos.

If you have any concerns please contact the school - the Facebook messenger facility is not checked regularly.

We can’t wait to welcome our young people back on Wednesday 2nd September.

Year 7 and 11 please arrive ready for an 8:30 start.

Year 8, 9 and 10 need to arrive at school at 11am.

A few reminders to ensure we start the new school year as we mean to go on, with professionalism and positivity. Starting the year with negative conversations is not how we want our first interactions to be so we ask for your support in ensuring your child is dressed according to our rules:

- No nails, false eyelashes, over-drawn eyebrows, excessive make up/contouring, fake tan or piercings (other than 1 stud in the lobe).
- Tights if wearing skirts (all students are permitted to wear tailored brown trousers if tights are uncomfortable).
- A blazer with white shirt and the Baines school tie.
- Hair is to be of a natural colour.
- A school bag with pencil case and equipment.
- A jacket or coat for inclement weather.

If you are having trouble sorting uniform please contact your pastoral team member or head of year. Please be aware the Facebook messenger service is not routinely manned and is not an effective way of contacting school - please use email channels.

We have now reached the end of our celebratory Facebook posts, we are sorry that we can’t include every child but please be assured that we, as a school, are very proud of all our year 11 students. There have been some incredible personal achievements that every single one of our children should feel proud of. Not only that, but they have proven to be a friendly, outgoing and ambitious group of children. Their respective colleges are very lucky to have them as they continue to embody the Baines motto, Nil Sine Labore.

Please keep in touch to celebrate future successes and know that your teachers still want the best for you even when you’ve left our classrooms.

We are so proud of Iysha achieving not one, but TWO distinction stars in her GCSEs in BTEC sport and BTEC travel!

Iysha said “I knew I’d done well but I wasn’t expecting the two Distinction Stars! So I’m super proud. I’m going on to study the T Level Health at Blackpool Sixth and want to become a paediatrician. I’ve loved my time at Baines and I wouldn’t change a thing.”

Tonight the twins’ family have double the reason to celebrate with a suite of impressive grades between the siblings!

Kristy said “I’m so happy. I’ve loved it here. The teachers were all so good and nice and I’m excited to do Biology, Psychology and PE at college.”

Ewan, Baines Head Boy, said “I’ve loved being Head Boy at Baines and today’s results are amazing. I’m very excited to go to college but I’ll be grateful to Baines forever.”

Sophie has done really well in her exams, in particular achieving a level 2 distinction star in BTEC travel.

Sophie spoke about her time at Baines and said “I’m so happy. I’m going on to study Travel and Tourism and Geography at Blackpool Sixth Form but I’ve loved my time at Baines – it’s the staff who make the difference.”

Emma has proven herself to be a keen scientist with a grade 9 and 8 in combined science.

Emma said “I’m really happy with my Science result. I worked so hard and Mr Cox was a blessing! I’ll miss Baines but I’m excited to go on to college to study English Lit, Maths, Psychology and Philosophy at Cardinal Newman.”

We wish Emma every success at Cardinal Newman and look forward to hearing of her future successes.

Isaac has demonstrated a very strong aptitude for Chemistry with a grade 9 amongst some other brilliant results.

When asked about Baines, Isaac said “I’m delighted with my results! With my 9 in Chemistry I’m now thinking about A Level Chemistry and my time at Baines is something I’ll cherish forever.”
