At the BBL we offer 3 distinct PGCE Primary with QTS programmes:

1. Early Primary 3-7 - Early Years & Key Stage 1
2. Primary 5-11 - Key Stage 1 & 2
3. Primary with SEND - with a placement in a special school

Trainee Choice - Excellent Mentor Award

Congratulations to Louise Pomfret from Heyhouses Primary School, winner of our Trainee Choice Excellent Mentor Award.
What makes this award so special is that it is nominated by our trainees, and this year Louise was independently nominated by both of the trainees she mentored.

Trainee Spotlight – Emily

This term, Emily has been completing her placement at New Longton All Saints C of E Primary School.

Recently, she has been supporting her Year 6 class as they prepare for their end of year production — helping with rehearsals and building pupils’ confidence ahead of the big day.

A fantastic experience and a brilliant way to end the year.

Trainee Spotlight - Sydney

Last term Sydney taught Art at Marton Primary Academy in Blackpool.

The final lesson was a whole class project to build a model of Blackpool Tower.

Sydney organised the resources and guided the project from start to finish, concluding with a sharing assembly where pupils proudly presented their work to the rest of the school.

A brilliant achievement for everyone.

This week, we caught up with Georgia at one of our partner schools, Norbreck Primary Academy.

Georgia is currently training with support from her mentor, Katie, who has helped her grow in confidence throughout this placement. Georgia shared that she feels very fortunate to have worked with three brilliant mentors across her training journey.

During our visit to Norbreck, it was also great to hear how highly Georgia’s current mentor speaks of her in return. They clearly make a strong and supportive team in the classroom.
