Once a swing, always a swing… and this one really made me smile. ❤️🎭
My very first West End job was as a swing, so I have a huge amount of respect for what it takes to be the person waiting in the wings, ready to step up when needed.
They are the ultimate team players.
They train, prepare, watch, listen, learn and wait… knowing that one day they may suddenly be asked to step into the spotlight and carry a show.
And that’s exactly what we encourage in our Starmakers too — the confidence to step up, embrace every opportunity and be ready when their moment comes. ❤️
Be ready. Be versatile. Be brave. Be the person who steps up. ⭐️

Swings once again saving the day 👏👏👏
A West End performance came very close to being cancelled this week, until one member of the company stepped forward with only hours to prepare for a major role.
Paddington the Musical swing Rose Mary O’Reilly volunteered to play Millicent Clyde on 17 August, with principal Victoria Hamilton-Barritt away and all three of the usual covers unable to perform.
Rose learned the entire role in just four hours before taking to the stage completely off-book
Producers Sonia Friedman and Eliza Lumley said Rose “quite literally saved the show,” adding that what she achieved was “quite simply astonishing,” while praising the whole company for pulling together to make sure the performance went ahead.
It meant 1,100 audience members still got their night at the theatre.
Paddington the Musical recently extended its West End run until 13 February 2028, with the show set for Broadway next year.
