We are excited to announce that our open days are now live for 2025/2026.
Come and see our wonderful school on Tuesday 23rd September, Thursday 23rd October, Wednesday 12th November or Monday 12th January. 🗓️

Open for all year groups and reception 2026 starters 🥰

Drop in any time between 9.30am - 11.30am and please do bring your children too. 👦👧

Today we took the whole school to the festival of brilliant 🎉

This was an explosion of authors, literacy and fun and the children loved it (teachers too! 🥰).

Our children got to meet the authors of books they have studied this year and as you can imagine everyone wanted a signature from their hero’s ✍️

This was a trip to remember and all made possible with our own school mini bus and children who love to explore their learning 🤗

Every Little (Blue Token) Helps…
Pott Shrigley CofE Primary school have some exciting news! 🌟

We are delighted to announce that we have been accepted by the Tesco Stronger Starts scheme - many of you will know this from the little blue tokens you collect at the till in store, and use to vote for one of three great causes.

Voting runs from the first week of July 2025 until the end of September 2025, with the project
receiving the highest number of votes across the region being awarded £1,500 (with £1,000 for second place and £500 for third place).

The money awarded to Pott Shrigley CofE Primary School will go towards our playground upgrade fund. This much needed, huge project includes - resurfacing, new and exciting playground graphics including multi sports court markings, daily mile markings, a dance game and other fun activities. A reading hut and other climbing and den building equipment and structures are also on the wish list!

Please help us to win this grant to enable us to put our exciting plans into action 🤗

Well dressing festival is a countryside tradition, where communities decorate wells and springs with elaborate pictures made from natural materials like flowers, petals, and seeds. 🌿

The festivals mark the start of village celebrations, often including parades, dancing, and other festivities. 💐

Today, Saturday 28th June 2025 our children opened this important festival in a grand ceremony of poetry and dance 👯

Our school team also created the welldressing entry for the schools this year, and what an entry it is. Massive thank you to our residence artist, she knows who she is! 🌟

We could not be prouder of the children, families and staff for coming together to make this happen 🙌

Amazing cricket yesterday with our small school family Kettleshulme St James, Bosley St Mary's CE Primary School and Wincle CE Primary School. 🥰

Come along to our annual Rose Queen event on Sunday 29th on Pott Shrigley village green 🌹

Alongside the advertised stalls there will be games for children, a new toy stall, a large bouncy slide (weather dependant) bottle and chocolate tombola plus lots more for the whole family 🥳

Come on down for a fun filled family event, suitable for all ages ❤️

Today our year 4,5 and 6 played with the Halle Orchestra 🎺

Enrichment is something we excel at and music is no exception 🎶

The children learn to play an instrument from year 2 upwards, for the whole of the summer term, every year 📆

This gives our children the chance to excel in music from a very early age 🌟

The day our local MP came to visit our breakfast club 🥣

What a joy it was to welcome you Tim Roca MP and share the morning with you.
Thank you for being so passionate in all we do at our small, rural, inclusive and high achieving school 🌟

Breakfast club is a big part of our day, fully funded and offered every day to our whole school 🥰

As you can see, it’s a whole lot of fun and children are given a whole variety of healthy foods to choose from 🙌

At Pott Shrigley primary enrichment across the curriculum is a big thing 🌟

We ‘hook in’ new learning or ‘consolidate’ topics with trips and experiences 🙌

With our own school mini bus, the world really is our oyster 🚌

Class 2 visited the Silk Museum this week and learnt all about the local silk trade in Macclesfield, one of their Geography topics 🏭

The class had a wonderful day but also decided that the 5.30am start to the day is a little early! 🤣

Happy bank holiday weekend ❤️

Relax and take a look through a selection of art created by our children from reception to year 6 this academic year 🖼️

We have used a range of artists to inspire us and also been part of an exhibition at Silk Museum this year 🧑‍🎨

Our children make outstanding progress in all areas of the curriculum down to the bespoke, adventurous and well thought out curriculum that we offer 🙌

Our small class sizes and strong staff team also ensure all children are seen, heard and loved. Children are supported but also challenged to thrive in all areas 🌟

We currently have a small number of spaces in some year groups. 🫶
