Little Bears Forest Preschool

Today is International Picnic Day and we enjoyed eating and sharing a picnic with our families at lunch time. We have also had some teddy bear picnics! 🧺

We've been celebrating the start of the world cup and have been enjoying making flags from countries all around the world, dressing up and playing football, learning how to be in a team and respect and support one another ⚽️ 🏆

There is always so much wildlife to see and enjoy on Milton Common. We saw swifts, whitethroats, ladybirds, bees, fruit trees and plenty of flowers. Before heading back to preschool for something to eat, one of the children suggested we lie down to relax and watch the clouds ⛅️ 😌

Picnic on the green is coming up, and we'll be there as usual so hope to see many familiar faces! Come along for a fun afternoon with your friends and families, and bring a picnic to share 🧸🧺

We're getting creative for the Bird Aware Solent's Art Fest this May, and made a collage of an oyster catcher. We have lots of these birds along the shore by Milton Common and thought we would celebrate them!

Today we celebrated bees! With lots of activities to learn about them, we also collected natural materials to make a bee hotel for solitary bees and other visiting insects 🐝💛

Today people all across the city and country are voting in local elections, so we've had a fun day of voting and making decisions too!

We've voted for stories we want to read, snacks we want to eat, games to play and much more!

May is here, and we celebrated in style!

Beltane marks the half way point between the Spring equinox and Summer solstice, and can be a time to notice the colours and blooming flowers all around! We danced around a may pole, made flower crowns, did some morris dancing, and played in the sunshine with friends 💚

Its a busy time of year on the allotment! This afternoon we watered all our plants and seeds, and planted up some new things to grow 👨‍🌾👩‍🌾🌱
