Ho Ho Ho! Save the date!

Our Christmas fayre is on Saturday 7th December from 10-12pm.

There will be a raffle, tombola, games and gifts to buy as well as refreshments.

This morning some of us took poppies we made down to The People's Memorial. We sat for a 2 minute's silence at 11am and spoke about what remembrance is 🌺

Whilst we were there we also heard and watched curlews and oyster catchers at the water's edge.

Next week the children and staff can come to preschool dressed up in something spooky for Halloween if they would like to.

We'll be making pumpkin soup to try, reading spooky stories and having lots of fun for our last week before the half term break!

This week we've had a mix of autumnal weather. Some days wet, some days dry. The children have been constructing and working together, we've been sharing stories and independently looking at books and noticing signs of the changing season around us.

We have so far collected lots of food for our Harvest food collection which we are donating to a local charity. If you've still got items to donate you can bring them in today or tomorrow. Thank you to everyone who has donated food so far :)

Today is Mental Health Awareness day.

We support the wellbeing of all our staff and use myHappymind, a programme to teach children about their brains and how to look after ourselves.

We've enjoyed a muddy puddle walk this morning!

We are... Outstanding! We had an Ofsted inspection a few weeks ago and are thrilled to have our hard work and exceptional setting recognised in this way.

We've been playing in fallen leaves, cutting up leaves and noticing lots of signs of autumn 🍂

It's national poetry day today 📖

We have been sharing poems and having a go at writing our own too. We have experimented with rhyming and looked around us for inspiration and what to write about. We then illustrated our poems!

Poetry is an excellent way to learn and explore with vocabulary and is great for boosting early literacy skills. Poems are fun and creative, emotive and interesting. Have a look at how you can enjoy poems at home:

For the Harvest food festival, we are collecting items to donate to a local charity/food bank so would be grateful of any food items you can bring in to donate 🍂📦

We have been enjoying our lovely new wooden gazebo this morning. We've been reading stories and enjoying together time in there!

We had a great coffee morning this morning with yummy cake, drinks and fun things to play with. Thank you for donating cakes and money and for coming along to spend time with us :)

This week we've been on the allotment, washing our toys, painting and creating, laying down to have a rest and so much more!

We have also enjoyed sharing all about me boxes and can't wait to see more next week.

Thank you to those who came to our parent information workshop on Tuesday, an introduction to the EYFS, too.
