At The Play Academy, we believe that supporting children also means supporting the families and communities around them, which is why we were proud to make a donation to Viva Gymnastics Club’s Every Family Matters programme. Its ethos strongly reflects our own values within Early Years — recognising that financial or social circumstances should never prevent a child from accessing positive experiences and opportunities. Activities such as gymnastics can support children’s confidence, resilience, wellbeing, friendships and sense of belonging, and we know how important these experiences can be to their overall development. We are delighted to support an initiative that works to remove barriers, strengthen families and ensure more children have the opportunity to thrive. 💛🌟

As the summer draws to a close, our hearts are full of pride—and a little sadness—as we prepare to wave goodbye to our wonderful pre-school leavers who are taking their next big steps into primary school.It has been an absolute privilege to watch each and every one of you learn, laugh, play, and grow into the confident, kind, and capable little people you are today.

From messy play and singing songs to making your very first friendships, you have filled our nursery with so much joy and happy memories. We are going to miss you all incredibly, but we know you are more than ready for your next exciting adventure.

To our amazing parents and carers: We want to extend a massive thank you to you all. Thank you for choosing us, for trusting us with your precious little ones during these vital early years, and for your continued support and partnership. We feel truly honoured to have been part of your child's early education journey. Thank you also for the incredibly kind words, cards, and beautiful gifts our team has received—they mean the world to us.

Good luck, little superstars! Shine bright at big school—we know you are going to do amazing things. Please do come back and visit us in your new school uniforms and share pictures with us.

We would also like to give a very special shout out to the Jones family. Thank you for being our first parents to sign up with us 10 years ago on our first ever open day. Thank you for believing in us from the very start! It has been a pleasure having you with us for the past 10 years and watching all three boys grow, develop and thrive.

Wow, what a milestone- 10 years at The Play Academy!

We are so grateful to these three lovely ladies for dedicating a decade of their lives to our nursery. Their hard work, care and support have truly made a difference! We value them not just as staff members, but as unique individuals who have played a vital role in shaping The Play Academy. Their wealth of knowledge, creativity and joyful spirit have added so much fun, care and laughter to our environment. We are excited to continue this journey with them and look forward to many more years working in partnership with them. Thank you- we couldn’t have done it without you!

CLAY EXPLORATION CHALLENGE

We set the rooms a challenge over the space of a couple of weeks to plan, implement and photograph clay exploration in their rooms.

The children had a great time and here are some of the results, we would like your help in judging by liking your favourite activity or adding a heart for your favourite picture. There are some fabulous photos that we can not share due to consents but we will judge those internally.

Winners will be announced at our 10 year anniversary/Christmas party weekend, this weekend.

10 Years! The nursery turns 10 years old this week and what a journey it has been.

What started as a crazy idea between friends has grown to a wonderful family that has cared for over 400 children. As we reflect on how far we have come we can be nothing but grateful to the wonderful families that have entrusted their children in our care, those that have returned time and time again and those that have been with us from day 1 as we have cared continuously for all siblings.

We are forever thankful to our wonderful team, past and present, who without, none of this would be possible. Their belief in our vision and their passion for what we do allows us to run as an 'outstanding' nursery.

Thank you to our families that were able to attend our Halloween stay and play today, we had so much fun and loved sharing with you what the children enjoy at nursery!

Today we have said goodbye to the last of our amazing school leavers as they start their new school adventures.

Many of the children have been with us for over four years and some families from the very beginning with older siblings. We will never stop feeling fortunate and being grateful when families pick us to care for their wonderful children.

We hope as you transition to your next adventure you keep learning with the same curiosity and joy you have shown every day here. We are so proud of each and every one of you and although we will miss you, we know you will shine brightly at big school.
