The Southsea Workbench

Notice to customers.
I have very recently been informed by Square
(my payment system, booking system and website space)
that Square is cancelling/disableing my account.
Apparently after 8 plus years I am now not abiding to their community guidelines.
(Having read the very very long guidelines I personally can not work out why suddenly I am not abiding to these terms and conditions)
I have asked for clarification and appealed the decision.
To cut a very long and tedious narrative down.
Basically computer say's NO.
They have graciously given me 30 days to find another provider and take all information from my website, appointment booking system etc.
This has really put me in a tail spin.
Thankfully I do have some amazing technical assistance who has put my mind to rest.
I am sure in the long run things will work out for the best (as these things often do with the passage of time)
My realisations from this are;
1) CASH IS KING. We really must use cash and not let cash be taken away for the convenience of paying with plastic or phone.
The service can literally be taken away from you with literally no explanation.
2)If we all moved to only using cash the powers that be would have to take notice. Why are we letting the bankers get rich with card payment charges when we can simply use cash?
3) In the future I will be asking people to pay by cash if possible we will also be offering bank transfer options until we have in place another card provider.

Small business beware I never envisioned this happening to me.
It could happen to you to.

The third and final Crafts in the Tower charity outing for autumn 2022 is to support Tonic Music for Mental Health at their HQ in Prince Albert Road.
