Always amazing to have Xavier down, what a lovely message he sent us.
You are a star and you are a part of our family....
Thanks for having me guys, awesome details Biscuit .
Just wanted to drop a quick blurb ; I remember walking into this space 8 years ago and was instantly welcomed, you guys have a great club/community and atmosphere. A testament to Kev and the OG blacks for what has been created.
Looking around today: was impressed to see so many black and brown belts on the mats, many of whom were purple and blues when I first joined. Again a testament to you all for showing up and trusting your club 🙌
Soz, Kamon gave me a shot of inspiration today; I hope to one day have multiple home grown black belts on my mats too!

# Huge Milestone for Escape Jiu-Jitsu: "Big" Phil Hamblin Earns 1st Degree Black Belt!
Huge congratulations to our very own **"Big" Phil Hamblin** on earning his **1st Degree BJJ Black Belt**! This is a massive milestone for Phil, Escape Jiu-Jitsu, and the Queensland martial arts community.
# # # A Cross-Continental Promotion
This special promotion beautifully bridged the distance between Australia and the UK:
* **The Rank:** 1st Degree BJJ Black Belt under Kevin Chan (Kamon BJJ)
* **Awarded Remotely By:** Head Coach **Kevin Chan**
* **Presented By:** **James Mardel**
Despite the miles, Phil’s dedication to the art remains undeniable. Earning a black belt stripe takes years of continued mastery, teaching, and passion. As a 1st Degree Black Belt, Phil brings a world-class martial arts lineage straight to our mats in Queensland.
> *"An incredible achievement for a phenomenal coach and competitor. Phil’s dedication inspires everyone who steps onto the mats at Escape Jiu-Jitsu."*
>
Please join us in celebrating "Big" Phil! Next time you see him on the mats, give him a massive high-five (and watch out for that 1st-degree technique!).
