We're challenging every tutor group to bring in donations for local food banks and help us build replica Spinnaker Towers from the items collected.

Every item donated will help support local food banks and provide essential food for families across Portsmouth who may be going through difficult times.

🏆 As donations come in, we'll use them to build a replica Spinnaker Tower in the school. The more your tutor group donates, the taller our towers will grow!

Ark Charter Academy is a co-educational secondary Church of England school in the centre of Portsmouth; upholding values of trust, compassion, and respect.

The Charter Way is 5 important rules that represent our values:

1️⃣ Ready to learn in uniform
2️⃣ Work hard
3️⃣ Follow instructions first time
4️⃣ Right place, right time
5️⃣ Be safe, supportive, respectful

The little things add up to big success for our pupils 💜

Congratulations to all the pupils who graduated from Fresh Start and Lexonic literacy programmes at the end of the Summer term! 🎉👏

We were really pleased to see another 20 students improve their sounds and reading skills, in order to complete the programmes successfully.

We had our celebration with all the graduates in the Fresh Start room where they received their certificates and a voucher for a free book. We are very proud of your achievements. Keep reading! 📚

🍽️ This week’s menus are here! (28th September – 2nd October)

Don't forget, our Food Pod also offers a selection of cold baguettes at every break and lunch, including cheese, ham, tuna mayo, chicken mayo, and occasional specials like assorted tortilla wraps.

🚨⚠️ Please regularly check the balance of, and top up, your child's iPayImpact account to ensure they can access meals at school.

This weekend, our Duke of Edinburgh participants put their skills to the test as they worked towards their Bronze Award. From hiking through the countryside and camping outdoors to cooking their own meals on camping stoves, students demonstrated resilience, teamwork and determination throughout the expedition.

A huge well done to everyone involved for embracing the challenge and representing Charter so brilliantly! 👏

A special thank you to the staff who supported the expedition and helped make this valuable experience possible. 💜

This year we have introduced a dedicated Medical Room alongside updated procedures for first aid and medical toilets.

The new system helps ensure:
✅ Students receive the right support at the right time
✅ Medical requests are managed consistently
✅ Students with approved medical needs can access facilities appropriately
✅ Pupils are encouraged to take increasing responsibility for managing their needs throughout the school day

Students who require first aid can request support through staff, and our Medical Officer will assess and respond accordingly. Those with approved medical toilet passes will continue to have access to designated facilities.

As always, student wellbeing remains our priority, and these arrangements help us provide safe, efficient and supportive care across the school.

If you have any questions regarding your child's medical needs, please contact the school.

💜 Say hello to our new Medical Room!

This welcoming space provides a calm environment for students who need medical support during the school day and supports student wellbeing. Some of the minor treatments provided here are plasters, ice packs, paracetamol (based on parental consent), sick bags, and basic first aid.

One of our favourite features of our new room is the community wall created by our Medical Officer, where students can leave a note, drawing or message after visiting 💌

Reminder for Pupils: If you need medical assistance, simply let a member of staff know and our Medical Officer will come and support you as quickly as possible. 😷
