Sparkle Lodge

Dear parents and our other followers,

it is with regret that I am writing to inform you that the directors have made the difficult decision to close Sparkle Lodge. This was not an easy decision. However, it became clear that while I was unexpectedly off long-term sick, a number of issues happened within the setting. Although I am now on the mend, I do not have the fight in me to get the setting back up to the standard that I expect and it will be better for everyone for the setting to close and the children to start at new settings. I do not wish for any child to feel upset, and I will definitely miss all of the children and families. However, I needed to make a decision in the best interests of the children and their families. I hope Sparkle Lodge will be a fond memory in your child’s life. If you need help finding alternative childcare, please contact the Portsmouth City Council Early Years Team, and they will help you. I will also be resuming my childminding service in the next couple of months, so if you would like me to offer care to your child once I am well enough, you can let me know on 07739102762.

Our new equipment coming soon for the children to explore in the outdoor area. Although it’s a small area we really make the most of it.

We have had a wonderful half term with the very hungry caterpillar theme, Easter activities, world book day & Red Nose Day.
Next term we will be looking forward to welcoming some new children & a new staff member 🤩.

Apprentices week.

Lea and Ani are both undertaking their level 2 apprenticeship to become early years practitioners.

Lea (on the left) is a keyworker for 5 of our children and is really learning new skills.

Ani (on the right) not only is doing her level 2 but also makes sure all of our children get the correct food and drinks throughout the day.

Both of them know our children well and are a great asset to our team.

Here are photos of them on a Friday after packing away the whole nursery yet still laughing and making things fun.
