What a wonderful time we had at our Father's Day Stay and Play session! πŸ’™

A huge thank you to all the dads, grandads, stepdads, and special father figures who joined us. It was lovely to see everyone spending quality time together, taking part in activities, and making special memories with the children.

The children were so excited to share their nursery environment and enjoy some fun-filled moments with their loved ones. Thank you for helping make the afternoon such a success!

Happy Father's Day to all the amazing father figures in our nursery community. πŸ’™πŸ‘¨β€πŸ‘§β€πŸ‘¦

🌍⚽ Our World Cup Around the World Adventure! ⚽🌍

As part of our World Cup celebrations, the children have been travelling the globe through play, creativity, and exploration! We are carefully planning special country-themed days throughout the tournament, giving us the opportunity to learn about different cultures, traditions, and experiences from around the world.

So far, we have explored:

πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦ Canada – We created Canadian flags, enjoyed a winter-themed ice skating sensory tray, and even tried our hand at curling! The children also learned about some of the sports that are popular in Canada.

πŸ‡²πŸ‡½ Mexico – We discovered some of Mexico's colourful traditions by making Mexican flags and creating a fantastic piΓ±ata, which the children loved decorating.

πŸ‡ΏπŸ‡¦ South Africa – The children made their own vuvuzelas and took part in a lively parade around the garden, bringing plenty of energy, music, and excitement to our day!

πŸ‡ͺπŸ‡Έ Spain – We explored Spanish culture through flamenco dancing to Spanish music and created beautiful Spanish fans, learning how music and dance play an important role in celebrations.

These experiences have encouraged curiosity about the wider world while helping the children develop their creativity, communication skills, and understanding of different cultures. We have loved seeing the children's enthusiasm as they learn about each country and can't wait to continue our World Cup journey together!

🌎✈️ We wonder where our next adventure will take us...

πŸ“As we prepare to mark D-Day tomorrow on the 6th of June, the children have been taking part in a variety of activities across the nursery to learn about this important part of our local and national history.

The children have enjoyed exploring a boat-themed water tray, taking part in D-Day inspired colouring, painting and craft activities, and learning about what D-Day means through child-friendly discussions and activities.🚒

Our Preschool children also enjoyed a special celebratory tea in the garden, decorated with flags and bunting, where they danced together to 1940s-inspired music and experienced a little taste of the community spirit that was so important during that time.🎡

As a nursery in Portsmouth, a city with a significant connection to D-Day, we are proud to help our children learn about the importance of remembrance in an age-appropriate and engaging way.πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§

πŸ¦‹ What an exciting week! πŸ¦‹

This week, the children have been carefully looking after our caterpillars as they transformed into beautiful butterflies. We've been learning all about their life cycle and making sure they had plenty of fruit and sugar water to keep them healthy and strong.πŸ›πŸ¦‹

We were thrilled to watch the butterflies emerge from their chrysalises, and the children have loved observing this incredible process up close.

Our Tweenies have now released their butterflies into the outdoors, watching them flutter away on their next adventure! 🌿✨ Meanwhile, our Preschool children are continuing to care for theirs while they build up strength in their wings, ready for their release towards the end of the week.

What a wonderful way to bring learning to life and experience the magic of nature together! πŸ’š

⚽️ Football Fun Day! ⚽️
Yesterday, our children had a fantastic time celebrating the end of the English football season with a special Football Themed Day! πŸŽ‰

The children enjoyed a variety of football-inspired activities, including practising their ball skills, taking part in team games and learning about teamwork, perseverance, and good sportsmanship. It was wonderful to see so much enthusiasm, excitement, and smiling faces throughout the day.⚽️

Our Football Day also marked the beginning of our journey towards learning about and celebrating the upcoming World Cup. πŸŒπŸ† Whilst the World Cup is on, we will be exploring different countries, cultures, flags, and traditions from around the world, helping the children develop their understanding of diversity and the wider world around them.

πŸŽ‰ Meet the Team – Birthday Edition πŸŽ‚
Today we’re celebrating a very special birthday and introducing one of our wonderful team members!

✨ Meet our Tweenie Room Level 3 Practitioner – Ria ✨

Ria is a valued member of our Tweenie Room team and has been part of the Good Manors family for an amazing 8 years. As a Level 3 Practitioner, she brings experience, creativity and care to her role every single day.

πŸ’› β€œI love being able to help the children learn and seeing them develop through the play and activities we create for them. I especially enjoy watching them build their own personalities and talking to them about their interests.”

🌈 Ria has a little girl, Sienna, who has just turned 6, who also attended Good Manors when she was younger! She also has a cat, and they spend lots of time with her sister, who has a dachshund that Sienna absolutely adores.

🎭 In her free time, Ria and her family love going to shows. They often visit Butlin’s to see the Skyline Gang or enjoy trips to the theatre together.

We’re so grateful to have Ria as part of our nursery family. πŸ’•
Please join us in wishing her a very Happy Birthday! 🎈🎁
