Today, our whole school community celebrated Earth Day 2026. ππ
Children took part in a range of creative activities linked to caring for our planet. Year 5 explored Hapa Zome, Year 3 created bubble nature art, Year 4 completed leaf rubbings using recycled crayons and Year 6 used quilling to create nature-inspired pictures.
Year R and Year 1 created pictures of Planet Earth, Year 2 used geometric shapes to design the Earth. Year R also enjoyed blending colours with pens and water to make planets.
We were delighted to welcome Jacqui, Community Champion from Asda Waterlooville, who helped Year 1 create natural bird feeders using lard, pine cones and bird seed.
The whole school also took part in litter picking, collecting over 7 bin liners of rubbish from our grounds. This helped children learn that small actions can make a big difference in caring for our environment.
We are so proud of how our pupils embraced Earth Day and showed such care for the world around them. π±β»οΈ
