We’ve had lots of fun this week! Starting with a dress up party for a birthday celebration for little Miss Pineapple! Some of the little pineapples went shopping for party food earlier in the day. The little pineapples then loved choosing which costume they wanted to wear and adding accessories. After some chocolate cake eating (comparing themselves to Bruno), they had some fun with party dances! 🍍🎂🥳
These are great free workshops!

Lovely pineapple tots family fun day at the castle fields today ☀️🍍🎶
Who doesn’t love a little stone throwing on the beach? Spotting naval ships, looking for islands, surrounded by castle walls, the square and round towers, waving at ferries and sailing boats passing by, balancing on the stones and giving it our best shot to throw light and heavy, smooth and rough stones into the crashing waves! Lots of opportunities for language, motor skills and understanding our world. Always feel so lucky to live by the sea ☀️🌊⛵️🚢🛥️🍍
The little pineapples planted sunflower seeds this year for Father’s Day and created their own sunflower cards. We hope all our families are enjoying watching their sunflowers grow at home 🌞🌻🍍
Fun in the sun, at the splash park!🍍🌞💦
A lovely morning spent with our elderly residents at Hamilton House today. We played lots of garden games which included ball throwing, hoop throwing, skittles and bean bags. We played instruments and sang some songs together. The lovely care workers were getting choked up a little today as they noticed the joy on one of their residents faces when the children visited as this particular resident hasn’t been very happy recently. The little pineapples are growing in confidence each time we visit 🍍🥰🎾🎳
A great day out at Portsmouth Museum. Nice and shady, with a little breeze, a chance to build some courage climbing the big net, and an opportunity to explore the museum! After the museum, we walked to Portsmouth Cathedral for our weekly group at 🍍☀️
The fun we can have on a hot day ! 🍍
A game of King Splat! These pictures will really make you smile! King Charles gave us an opportunity to talk about how our ears and nose continue to grow as we get older! The children had to try and throw the ears at King Charles, the closer they were to where they should be the more points they won! 😂👂👂👑
Our final Kings Coronation party was with our friends at Hamilton House, the young and old discussed the new King, waved flags together and sang the National anthem together. It’s such a pleasure to see how much enjoyment the little pineapples bring for the residents, but also watch our little pineapples grow in confidence the more we visit 🍍🇬🇧👑
Our final trips out for the Kings Coronation was to share the celebrations with others young and old. We visited our local nursery Little Sunbeams where we made crowns, flags and sang songs together. The little pineapples and the little sunbeams, had to learn how to play with each other, share ideas and negotiate. We plan to have more play dates with the little sunbeams! ☀️ 🍍👑🇬🇧

We continued to support the little pineapples understanding of the Kings Coronation, role playing the actual crowning of the King at Portsmouth Cathedral. With the amazing support from the Portsmouth Cathedral they brought the coronation to life and crowned our little pineapples King or Queen! After the many crownings, we joined in the weekly group Pompey Tots for playtime with our friends👑🍍
Our private tour with Doris the Detective at the Kings Theatre was incredible! A unique experience for our little pineapples, and memorable day! Doris the Detective helped support the little pineapples understanding of the Kings Coronation while also teaching them about their local theatre. They had an opportunity to visit the Royal Box, search for royal clues around the stalls, use binoculars to spot the King, and they even got to sing on the main stage! It was an amazing experience, even the adults learnt things to! Who knew the stage slanted to the front?? We do now! A huge thank you to the Kings-Theatre for accommodating us and making a huge contribution to the little pineapples understanding of the world! 🎭🇬🇧👑🍍
We continued to role play, with some King Coronation books and dress up rail! The little pineapples really enjoyed pretending to be Kings, Queens, royal guests and knights in shining armour! We had a royal feast making our own pizzas for a very special King and Queen’s birthday before some birthday cake 🍍🎂🍕👑
For World Book day the little pineapples had fun dressing up as some of their favourite characters! We read lots of different books when we visited our local library, and following their interest in construction we recreated the Three Little Pigs story. To support their learning of World book Day we watched Peter Pan on the stage and originally we had planned to celebrate World Book day with a private tour at the Kings Theatre in Southsea. Sadly due to illness we had to postpone our visit……to be continued 🍍📚🐷🐷🐷🔨🧚
Back in March we celebrated World Book Day! 📚🍍
Wow! What a whirlwind few weeks we’ve had! We’ve had a tour of the kings theatre, made friends at a new nursery, role played the coronation at the cathedral, had a coronation party, a street party, a few little pineapple’s birthday parties and visit to the residents home! The little pineapples have been learning about our British values, their country and history! We have some incredible pictures of our journey over the last few weeks, and will do our best to share with you this week! Now time to have some much needed rest, playtime and get the house back in order! 🇬🇧🍍🇺🇦👑🕺🥳🎭🎂
It was so wonderful today to share the King’s Coronation with the Pineapple Tots Childcare family. Today was about creating memories, and that we did! I’ve been told stories and seen pictures of loved ones at the last Coronation and how families came together. Today our children will be able to remember what they did when Charles became King, or have pictures to share with the next generations. Today was all about familes and sharing, children playing together, singing together, we had an amazing bring and share, Royal jokes, making crowns , colouring, dress up, face paints, games, a Royal quiz and Pina Pineapple even joined in the occasion! All in all it was a jolly good Royal Knees Up! Please share with us any pictures you may have! God Save the King! 🇬🇧👑🍍
Playing Posties, posting street party invitations! 🇬🇧👑🍍
The Kings Coronation preparations started at the start of April, the little pineapples role played posties! They posted invitations for a street party! 🇬🇧👑🍍
For the last couple of weeks we have been focusing on the Kings Coronation. The setting has been decorated to help support the little pineapples understanding of the historic event. The shelves have objects which promote communication and language, a dress up rail for role play, and lots of books about Charles and the Coronation for story time! This week they have been on lots of little adventures to bring the Coronation to life and we have our party to look forward to on Saturday! 🇬🇧👑🍍
Excited for the little pineapples to see the newly refreshed garden this morning! For the last month we have been investing into it, gathering new resources such as a larger playhouse and a pirate ship! Construction is a key interest at the moment so we have grown this area. We refurbished our little cars and exchanged some old toys for new! Mr Pineapple has even built some new balancing beams! Can’t wait to see the smiles on their faces! 🍍☀️🏴☠️🚜🏠🍍
The King has arrived to welcome the children tomorrow and start our coronation preparations!🇬🇧👑🍍
The little pineapples had a fun last day to start their Easter celebrations! We had a visit front the lovely Reverend Hannah from Portsmouth Cathedral to read us an Easter story before we had an egg hunt. They wore their hats and eat their cakes, before having some Easter sports which included egg and spoon race, hop little bunnies, and hop, hop, bunny! They were very proud to receive their medals at the end for trying their best! A lovely start to Spring! 🐣🥚🐰🐇🐥🍍
Making cakes ready for our Easter party! 🐣🍍
We hope all our families have had a wonderful Easter! The start of Spring has kept the little pineapples very busy ! Exploring spring flowers, decorating an Easter tree, using a mix of materials to create Easter eggs , Easter bunnies and making Easter hats. We have been focusing on activities that support fine motor skills , such as play dough, stickers, holding tools such as glue sticks, brushes and pens, hanging Easter eggs onto the tree 🐥🌼🍍🐣
The big pineapple sleepover! To give our parents a gift of time, we had a night of fun with the little pineapples! The older pineapples and their siblings slept over , while our younger ones had a lunch date the following day. We started the evening with Matilda the movie and some Easter treats. They had fun brushing their teeth together before going to bed. All the little pineapples were very good and slept through the night, for many this was a huge milestone! In the morning after breakfast they had some exercise with yoga before going home. Once all the beds were away, it was time for round two and the younger little pineapples arrived. They had lunch when they arrived, followed by lots of Easter treats and free play. It was lovely to see some parents feeling recharged and springs in their steps!🍍
When an exciting new delivery arrived, the little pineapples had so much fun with a good old fashioned box! 🍍📦
Help!!! We are on the look out for fancy dress items for our local group! If anyone has any spare dress up clothes it would be really appreciated! Many thanks Claire 🍍🍍🍍
What to do when your day trip is cancelled and you have excited little pineapples?? We started the day watching Peter Pan on the stage, as we were about to go to the theatre. Sadly our day trip had to be rescheduled due to sickness, so instead the little pineapples took over the local soft play! 🍍🎭🪝
I love flamingos even more now! I read this post this morning and felt the need to share. Next weekend, as a gift to our parents, we are offering a gift of time. It’s so important to have a little ‘me time’. Sometime to rest, treat yourself, restore yourself. Personally I can relate to this fact about flamingos! Mamas we’ve got this! 🦩🍍🦩
💕To all the mummies out there.💕
Did you know that flamingo mothers lose their beautiful pink colour as they raise their babies due to all the love and energy they put into caring for their little ones. They become less and less pink as they care for their young.
I found this so poignant.
As human mummies, especially when our kids are tiny, it can feel like we are losing our colour too. Our vibrant colours begin to fade as we morph into a very fulfilled but slightly less sparkly version of our old selves. We love being a parent, but every now and then we miss who we were.
The gorgeous thing about the flamingo is that, as her babies become less needy and her energy restores, her beautiful pink colour comes back. Thankfully, so will ours. We’ll get our pink back ladies!💪🏻

We are so pleased all our mummies have loved receiving their gifts! Here is the fun behind the scenes 🍍🌼🌷
Wishing all our lovely mummies a happy Mother’s Day! We hope you all liked your gifts, grown with love since November, when the little pineapples planted some bulbs 🌼🍍🌼🍍🌼
We love supporting independency as well as introducing new language and there’s no better way than making your own pancakes! Making pancakes encouraged mathematics as well trying new things. Measuring, pouring, stirring, cracking, crunchy, slimy, sweet, sour, squeezing, juicy, yellow, green, orange! The little pineapples loved using their fine motor skills to mix the ingredients together, crack eggs amd try the citrus fruits as they cut them into halves and quarters. Personally we love their little faces trying the different fruits! 🍍🍋🍊🥞
