Happy Easter to all Shintai Karateka and friends. Enjoyable class this morning, with the emphasis on Kihon ippon kumite.
No classes in Southsea now until April 25th while Sensei Tyrie is Down Under 🦘🥋

Well done Alexandra, Student of the Month for March. Nice to see great concentration from someone so young 👏🥋

Small class, so a chance to follow up Jiyu Ippon kumite with kata applications and some weapons practice 🥋

Well done Martin, February’s Student of the Month (a week late in getting the picture- oops 🤣) 🥋

For the higher Grades - 2 multi forward and back combination techniques (1 attack and 1 defence) practiced as basics then with multiple partners - taken from the PSKO Yondan 4th Dan black belt syllabus. Next was Kata followed by some great 1 step kumite technique demonstrations with Iain Sensei and Sensei Fletch 👊

Thank you Iain Sensei for the Tai Chi "meditation in motion" warm down to end an energetic class 🙏 We will make sure there’s more time for a longer one next time.

Good effort by Simon and Bobby moving up to their next belt. Thanks to Martyn and Steve for helping out during the class🥋

As well as a joint love of karate and a longtime friendship, Sensei Tyrie and Sensei Katsu Tiru Jr both share a birthday- 21st February.
