Hello Futurators, long time no speak! We are running a new programme this autumn called Young Curators and were wondering if you could help spread the word?

Aspex are looking for 14–19 year olds with ambitious ideas to take part in their new Young Curators project, starting this October. The project will provide the opportunity to make your voice heard and gain knowledge about working in creative roles, where your ideas can become reality.

The Futurators are a group of young individuals aged between 14 - 23, who meet at Aspex Gallery every week to curate, discuss and experience art.
Join them on Saturday 9 July for The People's Symposium, a series of talks organised by the group, showcasing their efforts and encouraging Portsmouth residents to discuss arts and culture!

What we got up to in Bristol… A few weeks ago we posted about what we got up to at Arnolfini in Bristol. We were lucky enough to have a tour of the excellent Richard Long exhibition with Ben Thomas. Afterwards we settled ourselves into the Reading Room and had a good rummage in Connie Butler’s Nomad…

The Futurators 2016 has already started! Over the next few weeks we'll be having master classes by industry professionals, to learn about how galleries function, what the role of the curator is and how you might go about curating an archive. If you are aged between 15-22 yrs. there are still places left to join. Come along to aspex gallery Thursdays 5.30pm-7.30pm.

A quick reminder of when we are open over the festive season. We are now closed until Saturday 27 December at 11am. We’ll also be open on Sunday 28, and especially for that week, we are opening on Monday 29 & Tuesday 30 too (11-4 each day).
