A new week for Springwood .
We have a busy week ahead.

Focusing on ‘All about me’ we are providing our little ones with lots of fun learning.

We are shop keepers this week, learning about different items we can shop for, handing over money, being polite, waiting our turn and writing our shopping lists.

Our small group time focus we are learning,

Garden play we are exploring Sea world and bug hunting linking in with our pets from home.

Activities this week we are playing with shaving foam, conkers, pumpkins, and leafs to celebrate autumn.

We fly into a new week continuing to focus on our subject- All About Me.
The children are enjoying talking about their pets, families and holidays/days out.

Please remember to share your family photos on dojo for us to print/display and discuss during our welcome time.

This week we look forward to Rachael and Leia bringing in their pets to meet the children, guinea pigs, Bearded Dragons and kittens.

We look forward to painting, and pouring and cooking cheese straws.

Its Thursday 🎉

Today we have some wonderful experiences for our children.

Thursday is outing day 🎉🚶‍♀️, we will go out and explore our community.

Throughout today we focus on our subject ‘All About Me’ talking about our families, our pets, and adventures, along with exploring the different activities we have to offer today.

Dear Parents/Carers,

Just a little reminder regarding our opening and closing times. From tomorrow, we will be returning to the times we had in July:

🌸 Opening time: 8:45am
🌸 Closing time: 2:45pm

Unfortunately, we have had a few occasions where children have been collected after our closing time. We completely understand that things can sometimes happen, but late collections have an impact on our staff, who also need to finish on time.

Please could we kindly ask everyone to make sure children are collected by 2:45pm. After this time, the children are no longer covered by our setting’s insurance, so it is really important that we are able to close promptly and safely.

Thank you so much for your understanding and cooperation. We really appreciate your support in helping us make sure everything runs smoothly for the children and our staff. ❤️

At Springwood, we have been busy exploring our muddy dinosaur swamp. We encouraged getting messy enhancing their sensory play and using their fine motor skills to transport the dinosaurs. 🦕 🦖

We also used are cooking skills to make cheese swirls. We talked about what ingredients we needed and how to keep everything clean. We enjoyed exploring different food textures, using all are senses of touch, taste, smell, sight and listen. 🧀

We are so excited to start another wonderful week with the children. This week's theme is all about discovery and celebration: "All About Me & Pets!" 💖🐶

It’s going to be a week full of creativity, delicious smells, and lots of learning about our unique selves and the furry friends we love.

Here’s a peek at what we have planned across the nursery:

📚 Book Corner: We’ll be diving into stories celebrating diversity, different cultures, and looking at flags from around the world. 🌍🏳️
🧸 Small World: The dollhouse is getting an upgrade with car ramps and lots of household pets and animals for imaginative play! 🚗🏠

🎭 Roleplay & PE: Get ready for fun! We’ll be playing with parachutes, caring for baby dolls, acting in our own hairdresser salon, and playing games that teach us about our unique features. ✂️👶

🧑‍🍳 Cooking Corner: We are baking delicious cheese twists, decorating self-portrait biscuits and creating colourful rainbow cookies. 🧀🍪

🎨 Craft Station: It’s time to get creative (and a little messy!).
We are making family trees, designing paper plate faces, and exploring a sensory tray with spaghetti hair. 🌳🍝

💬 Circle Time: We’ll come together to share stories about our family pets, chat about family time and cultures, and appreciate the special features that make every child wonderfully unique. 🤔🤗

We can’t wait for a week of fun and learning!

Yesterday we had so much fun going on an amazing adventure to the park. We got to see lots of animals and have lots of fun developing our gross motor skills in the park area. We saw the tweeting birds, the chickens and the goats. The goats came up close to say hello.

We made sure we were safe and careful whilst out on our walk. At the roads we practised our stop, look and listen skills before we crossed the road, crossing at traffic lights and waiting for the green man. When seeing the animals we made sure not to put our hands in the animal fence. We held hands and had great listening skills whilst out. We walked all the way there and all the way back.

After visiting the animals we went into the park for some fun on the slides, swings and roundabouts.

To end our amazing trip we went to the shop, we got to gain an understanding of how it works when we want to buy something, we made decisions on what we would like to buy and paid for it at the till.

Today at preschool we enjoyed some leaf 🍁 painting together as we explored the autumn season. We all engaged well and enjoyed exploring the leaves and different textures.

Some were smooth and some were crunchy and others were smooths. We spoke about where we could find leaves and the beautiful colours🌈We enjoyed seeing the different marks the leaves made on our paper 😁

We have worked really hard over the summer, giving Springwood a make over. Painting, decluttering, lots of organising, and creating new spaces for children and families. Enjoy our new waiting area.
We have more painting and flooring to finish but we are proud to share our developments with you all.
