Dear Parents,

The Hellenic School of Portsmouth will shortly be starting a new class to prepare older pupils for the Greek GCSE examination. The class will be hosted at St Edmund’s Catholic School (Arundel Street, PO1 1RX) and will run every Thursday from 17:30 to 19:00, starting on 15 January. This class is intended for secondary school pupils who wish to work towards the GCSE qualification.

The cost of the class will be £15 per lesson, with fees payable at the start of each term. Registrations will be via the Google Form below. If you are interested in your child attending the class please complete the registration form by 9th January.

Dear Parents,
The Hellenic School of Portsmouth will start its operation for the 2025-2026 school year on Sat 20 September, at St Jude’s CoE Primary School in Old Portsmouth. Our intention is to operate classes in two slots, on Saturday mornings and early afternoons, same as last year’s timetable, but this will depend on pupil registrations.

For older children, Year 7 onwards, if there is sufficient interest, we intend to run a class that will focus on the Greek GCSE curriculum, to allow pupils to continue with Greek lessons or work towards the exam if they wish to. This class may run on Saturday or weekday evening, if such time is more suitable.

Assuming we have a similar number of registration as last year, we expect the cost of tuition fees to remain unchanged (£12 per 2hr lesson). For families that have two or more children attending the school, we offer a 20% sibling discount on siblings' fees.

Registrations will be via the Google Forms link below. If you are interested in your children attending the school, can you please complete the registration form by 14th September.

Once registrations are complete we will advise details on the timetable and school fees. When fee details are published you will still have the option to cancel your registration, if you wish to do so.

The Hellenic School of Portsmouth will start its operation for the 2021-2022 school year on Sat 2nd October, at St Jude’s C of E Primary School in Old Portsmouth. Our intention is to operate classes in two slots, on Saturday mornings and early afternoons, similar to our pre-Covid timetable. The exact timetable and tuition fees are not finalised yet, as they depend on the number of registrations we will have.

We expect the cost of tuition fees to be similar to previous years. For families that have two children attending the school, we offer a 20% sibling discount on the second child’s fees.
Note that we cannot accommodate children under the age of 5, due to additional statutory requirements applicable to younger children.

The successful candidate will be replacing one of our teachers who was with us for the past 3 years. Native knowledge of Greek and a University qualification in a relevant discipline are required. Please note that the School runs on a part-time basis, term-time only, on Saturdays.

Fees for lessons cancelled in the last term due to COVID-19 restrictions will be credited against this term. If you were enrolled in the school at the time, please register, and wait until you receive a statement from us before you pay the fees.

Dear Parents,

We hope you are all well. Apologies for our long silence but this is due to the current circumstances that have prevented us from operating as normal.

Unfortunatelly St. Jude's Primary, the school hosting our operation, have suspended lettings for this term due to COVID19 restrictions. Our search for alternative premises has not been succesful, which means that we will not be able to offer class based tuition for the time being. We are hoping to be able to resume lessons at St Jude's after the Christmas holiday, if the COVID19 situation improves by then.

For this term, we are planning to offer virtual online classes starting in early October. In order to keep our pupils engaged, we are planning to run shorter classes (up to an hour) with a smaller group of children in each session. Lessons will be scheduled for Saturday mornings as before, but there is also the option of weekday slots, if there is sufficent demand and teacher availability.

Details on proposed lesson times and tuition fees will be published next week. For existing pupils, any tuition fees paid for lessons cancelled last term will be credited against this term's fees.
