The Big Future survey is asking children and young people about their lives, their experiences and their hopes for the future. Dame Rachel de Souza, Children’s Commissioner for England, will be using what they tell her to build a national picture of what matters to children today and to ensure their views are heard by the government. The survey takes a few minutes to complete and can be accessed here.

Please take a few minutes to take our survey.

It's only 5 more sleeps until the Summer Reading Challenge Celebration event at Southsea Castle! We will still accept late finishers right up to Saturday 26 September so there's still time to snag your invite. Best of all, bus travel is free on Sunday so it won't cost you anything to attend if you arrive on public transport!

If your child completed the challenge online, you should have received an email by now inviting you to the event - provided you gave permission for your data to be shared with us.

We have an amazing range of activities lined up including K-Pop music performers, African drum workshops courtesy of Portsmouth Music Hub, crafts, story times, treasure hunt, plus special appearances from Steve from Minecraft, Spiderman and beauty queen Miss Great Britain (Hampshire) Rhiannon Howe.

We're also holding a fancy dress competition so feel free to come to the event dressed as your musical hero! To enter the competition, take a photo of your child at the event and send it to [email protected] by Friday 2 October.
