Melissa Flack English Tuition

*2026-27 Updates*

I've spent this year, since January, enjoying my maternity leave with my son. Self-employment does present some challenges when it comes to maternity leave, however it also means I can enjoy some flexibility with my return to work. I'm really looking forward to seeing my existing Y11s weekly again from September, before returning fully from February.

This does mean that I'm not taking on any new students this September, however I am now taking enquiries for limited spaces from February.

If you're looking for tutoring from this September, I am delighted to be able to share Rosanna Brown English Tuition. Rosanna and I were close colleagues for many years and have been good friends for even longer. She is going to be a wonderful asset to the tutoring community - please follow and share her page!

My creative writing group 'The Write Space' is all about taking young people's writing seriously, yet in a really relaxed and enjoyable way. I've written a blog post explaining a little more about the thoughts behind this and why I think it's important. You can find it on my website here: https://www.melissaflackenglishtuition.co.uk/blog/taking-young-peoples-creative-writing-seriously

New offer! Small group GCSE English tuition 🎉

Alongside my popular 1:1 tuition, I am now taking bookings for a new online, weekly Y11 AQA GCSE English Language tuition group.

This is a focused group, for these last few months before the exams.

By keeping the groups small, students will continue to benefit from my personalised support and feedback so valued in 1:1 sessions, as well as gaining from the collaborative nature of small group work, all at a more affordable cost.

Wednesdays 18:15-19:15
Online – Zoom
Maximum 4 students
£25 per session
Aimed at students sitting their GCSE this year

Hello! I've not posted here for a while! I hope you're all enjoying the summer. From the autumn I'll be offering creative writing groups, exclusively for home educated teens. I'm really hoping to build a lovely community of young people who love to write, so please do share this with any home ed families that you think may be interested!

If you're not home educated and wishing this was after school, let me know, as I can look at launching an after school group later in the year if there's interest.

Don't worry, my 1:1 tuition isn't going anywhere. I have very limited availability left for the new year however, so do get in touch if you're hoping to secure a slot from September.
