Two weeks ago, the brave team took on the challenge of abseiling down the iconic Spinnaker Tower in support of Politely Rebellious Next Gen CIC š§”
From nervous smiles at the top to huge celebrations at the bottom, every single person who took part stepped outside of their comfort zone to help raise vital funds for local young people.
Every penny will be invested directly back into our work supporting, empowering and creating opportunities for young people across our community.
A huge thank you to everyone who took part, donated, shared our fundraiser and cheered us on. We couldnāt do what we do without you.
Weāre still so proud of every single one of us who took that step over the edge! š§āāļøāØ

Last Friday, our Role Models Keshia and Leanne were at Warblington School delivering our āWhat is Love?ā sessions to students š
These sessions create a safe space for young people to explore what healthy relationships look like, discuss respect, boundaries, communication and challenge some of the misconceptions they may come across both online and offline.
Through open conversations, students were encouraged to reflect on the importance of self-worth, recognising healthy behaviours and understanding what positive relationships should feel like.
A huge thank you to Comserv for sponsoring these sessions and helping us bring these important conversations into schools.
Well done to all of the students who engaged so thoughtfully throughout the sessions š

Meet Kay š .nyne
Many of you may already know him as Kay.nyne, an Afrobeats Artist who is making huge waves and building a strong reputation within the music industry šµ
But beyond the music, Kay has a clear vision, a strong business idea and the drive to turn it into reality. Weāre excited to be working alongside Kay on a weekly basis through mentoring and project work, helping him develop his business venture by building on the skills, experiences and talents he already possesses.
At Next Gen, weāre passionate about helping young people recognise their strengths and turn their ambitions into action. Kay is a fantastic example of a young person with a vision who is willing to put in the work to make it happen.
We canāt wait to see where this journey takes him and are proud to be part of the process! š

Director meetings can involve a whole range of things; planning projects, reviewing impact, discussing partnerships and looking ahead to whatās next.
But one topic dominated our conversation: How do we tackle the rising number of young people who are currently NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training) in our city?
Behind every statistic is a young person with potential, ambitions and talents that deserve to be nurtured. The reality is that too many young people are facing barriers to opportunity, and thatās something we refuse to ignore.
As directors, our responsibility is not just to talk about the challenges facing young people, but to take action. We spent time exploring solutions, identifying opportunities and discussing how we can continue to create pathways that help young people build confidence, gain experience and access meaningful opportunities.
The challenge is significant, but so is the potential of the young people in our city. Weāre committed to being part of the solution. š£ļø

What are the chances of our two biggest funding partners, in the same place, at the same time? š
A huge shoutout to Tessa from The Blagrave Trust and Police & Crime Commissioner Donna Jones from Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary!
The support of these two amazing ladies goes far beyond funding, it creates opportunities, opens doors and helps young people realise their potential.
Weāre incredibly grateful for their continued belief in our work and their commitment to helping young people thrive.
Partnerships like these make a real difference, and weāre excited to keep building brighter futures together š¤

We are SO incredibly proud of this team who faced the 100m drop and took on the Spinnaker Tower Abseil šš§
In the end all three directors, Leah, Simon AND Keshia, stepped over the edge alongside the amazing Oakley, Andy, Habs, Kirsty & Scott, showing what can happen when we back ourselves and face our fears together.
This day was about so much more than an abseil. It was about courage, support, community and proving that growth happens outside of our comfort zones.
Together, across all four charities, a huge amount of money was raised to continue supporting communities and changing lives, we couldnāt be more grateful to everyone who donated, cheered us on and stood beside us throughout the day ā¤ļø
At Next Gen, we do what we do to raise aspirations and remind young people that they are capable of more than they may believe. We hope this challenge sends a simple message: You can do anything you put your mind to.
Weāve tackled the tower⦠now letās tackle whatās going on in our city š„
And itās not too late to put a donation in the pot š
